Hi guys

Maybe a thread where we can help with some issues with our beloved 3's.

I have loaded alot of music, movies etc. on my console. It's however starting to look a bit messy. Can one create folders to try and sort everything and how is it done?

Try pressing square under the relevant XMB section...will sort music, video and photos according to a number of different criteria.
I dont know of any other way...

I know that yes but, say I copy a series, it would be nice if I could make a 24, Spartacus etc. folder. I dont think you can do it, but maybe someone has found a neat way of sorting their data?

I've done this by running a media server and my PS3 connects to that, and finds everything in its own folder

Press Triangle on a selected Movie/Clip/Episode and selec "Information" from the bar.

Now press Down so it selects the "Album" field.
Press X to edit.
Type in a name you would want for it's "folder"
Finish that up and you can sort your movies by Album, provided you have now done this with all of your stuff as needed.

:)

Thanks bud. Will try this tonight. Hope it works:o

Yeah, thats the tough part... starting out.

Once you have a nicely setup structure, you just need to maintain the discipline in keeping it clean as you copy stuff.

All my videos and movies are sorted. I just wish that the music had a search function. I hate scrolling for half a minute to get to an artist and play their music

what video formats can the ps3 play?

Well just the normal MWV,AVI,MPEG 1,2,4 really

the rest of the files i use PS3 media server for. works like a charm, encodes all our videos on the fly to a format the PS3 will recognize
