PS3 update 3.30

downloaded and installed running fine so far will report any bugs if i come across them... Going to install on 60GB now.

I'm going to wait a bit to be sure about this update. Noticed a few problems with the previous one on the forums..But it seems 3.30 is looking legit to update to.

FYI

Sony seems to run into a lot of problems when they release a new PS3 system update these days. After the uproar of removing the 'Other OS' feature in Firmware 3.21, some are now going to the extreme and dubbing 3.30 as being even more devastating because it has completely made their system useless. The main reported problems are that the systems no longer read any form of disc, thus making gaming and watching movies an impossibility -- even the NetFlix disc is reported to no longer work in some cases.

One user report stated on the official PlayStation forums: "Are you kidding me! First (3.21) it freezes, and now with this one (3.30) it wont even read or recognize the disk, that means that I wont be able to play online or offline."

How big of a problem this is causing for PS3 users hasn't been determined, but several PlayStation forum users across the net are reporting this problem

I had that problems when my lazer started failing last year july, on my 60GB doesnt mean its the software. I guess the people jut looking to blame sony so that they don't need to pay to replace their consoles. If most people are not reporting problems then i believe it is user related and nothing more. But the update is mandatory and eventually it will need to update either now or when you buy your next game.

Also several out of many thousands? negliable i think.

Speaking for myself, 3 friends, and 4 relatives... no PS3 update has ever caused any problems for any of us in any manner.

Other than the removal of Other-OS feature, which only 2 of us used OCCASIONALLY... Smooth running since day 1, and yes, most of us have had our systems since month 1 of SA availability.

I am downloading at the moment so I can connect to PSN :D

I hope I am downloading the correct version. I am downloading the EU version.
