PS3 & Xbox360: The finer details...

What gets played most on the PSN? I'm asking this since I only have a X-box and besides Call of Duty and Battlefield, it's the console exclusives that gets a lot of attention on LIVE. For example Gears and Halo. Now for me multiplayer is important, it makes you enjoy a game months after its release. So this makes me think that the X-box has a better online library? I could be wrong and please don't take this as flaming. What Playstation exclusives are being played a lot on PSN? Uncharted? Killzone? I hardly hear of those games. Can someone with both consoles maybe clear this up?

30k !!!!!!

HUH.......

Probably all the games/controllers/etc he's bought over time.

Yeah that is the deal breaker I have been pointing this out in the past. Most people will not be bothered to try a PS3 for good reasons such as this. This will often also include that most of your friends also have the platform, and you obviously want to play with them online, so you stick with it regardless. I think the 360 made huge inroads by releasing sooner than the PS3 despite its failure rate. The ownership of software and ones friends kept them coming back.

Price was my main reason for going the Xbox route. For the price of the PS3 at the time, about 11 months ago, I could buy an Xbox, an extra controller, a play and charge kit, and 5 games (2 new 3 secondhand).

Now with last week's special (R2300 for a 120GB slim) I bought a PS3.

R4000+ for a console doesn't cut it for me, even if does have Blu-ray and wireless etc built in.

From what I hear Uncharted2 is quite a hit from an online multiplayer aspect.

Uncharted 2 has got to be the best multiplayer game I have played in my life, hands down. Other very popular games on PSN are Killzone 2, MAG, Warhawk, CoD MW2 and of course BF:BC 2.

Ahh yes, forgot about that. I used to punt the 360 over the PS3 because of that, well that and the sheer lack of PS3 games at that time.

As far as the controller. I never understand why it is such an issue. It worked perfectly well for the PS1 and PS2. I think it would have been wise to update it, but it far from this agonizing device many 360 fans here make it out to be.

While both are fine I guess I did at times wonder why Microsoft opted to go with the childish avatar concept. It just looks silly (read again: childish)

I don't think it looks silly at all personally. It looks very apple-eque (read: cover flow). It's a HUGE step up from the old Xbox Dashboard.

But, to answer your wonder, I think they're trying to appeal to the family market and attract some potential Wii customers. Whether it's working is another story...

However, if you're interested in media playback, get a PS3. The Xbox 360 is incredibly sensitive when it comes to scratches etc on DvDs.

Well, Windows Media Centre integration on Xbox is a huuuuge plus for me.

Does the PS3 have WMC integration too?

Never had a PS1 or PS2 so I never really got used to it.

I'm used to the Xbox controller....... which is better by miles.

It's not a huge problem tho. I'll get the Logitech version.

Remember the first prototype PS3 controllers?

Toxin, you could always just do the following....

Rofl!! The boomerang controller..... saves your precious LCD from your rage by hitting you in the face rather. :D

I'll have to get myself a wired Xbox controller if I actually want to try that attachment thingy. It'll be cheaper just to get the Logitech.

I must have spent over 30k on my XBOX so far. So for now, I cant justify the move to myself.

I had the same issue...xbox360 elite black ltd ed, 3 controllers with 30+ games...lotta cash spent on it already...also a standalone bluray player.... but i just woke up one day and noticed the games, console, bluray player and movies started cluttering my livingroom terribly...

So I sold it all individually (yes, it was a PAIN) and basically replaced the xbox, majority of my fave games from xbox on PS3, and bluray player with the PS3 and still had some cash left for some extra ps3 controllers and other goodies....i also committed myself to having a max of 10 games in my collection at all times. If i want a new title, an older one has to go. IMO that eliminates the chance of a massive, yet worthless collection of games.

He said "worthless" and "games" in the same sentence!

GRAB HIM!

Hehe...no man...you know what I mean....building up a proper big collection of games which will eventually be uncompatible with future consoles or whatever....the more games the better IMO, just, uhm, need before greed...if that makes any sense...lol

I quite pride myself in my collection of games :p I wouldn't dream of selling my babies. In years to come some of those could be worth a pretty penny too!
