PS4 - Game Questions

Well technically it didn't cost me anything as my brother bought the SSHD. I think he paid just over R1000 for it.

You kidding me? For a 1 TB SSD? :wtf: could you find out where he got it please? "whistling:

It's a hybrid drive man. He bought it directly from a local supplier. He's in IT and he has accounts at all the suppliers.

I jusst reached the hyper cars section in Driveclub and damn the sense of speed is awesome. There is a rumour that Japan is the free location being added to the game.

O ok cool  Sorry im not to clued up on the hardware side of things, actually the first im hearing about an SSHD...

Has their been a noticeable difference in the performance of the PS4? I upgraded my PS3 HD to a 120 gig SSD, but the drive was faulty so I never got to see a difference...

Except for the larger capacity, let us know how the faster speeds help? I'm also looking at something like this a bit later on.

I know SSD drives have a read/write cycle lifespan, would the same apply to a hybrid?
I would imagine so.

Lol, neither am I man. My brother just phoned my yesterday and told me he is going to buy an SSHD for the PS4.

Haven't really played any games yet since the upgrade but the console does seem to boot up faster.

As soon as I've tested it out with some gaming I will give some feedback.

Awesome thanks man :D

Googled and found this interesting article on IGN

TLDR - SSD and SSHD both out perform the standard drive quite considerably, SSD beats out SSHD but only by a couple of seconds... With Disc based installs the HD's are all bottle necked by the speed of the Disc Drive, so all pretty similar here...

So I took the plunge and pre-ordered Dragon Age Inquisition and bought Shadow of Mordor. Each only costing me R579, so at least I got a good deal.

DAI looks fantastic and Shadow of Mordor will be great, only problem is I need to wait until Xmas to play them :/

indeed. so guess what I'll be doing all weekend ^_^

Let me know how it is? I played some of the Alpha and it had a NFSU2 vibe to it but the physics where jumping on either side of the scale from none at all to an elastic band.
