Ps4 !!!

If the rumors are to be believed and M$ will be launching a new Xbox next year then I can't see why we won't see the PS4 as well. Sony can't afford not to have the PS4 out when the new Xbox launches...
 
I'll be waiting for E3. IF there is no news on E3 then don't expect it anytime soon. Besides MS and Sony recently released the Move and Kinect and there hasn't been enough games released for these peripherals to warrant new hardware just yet. Well unless they make the next gen hardware compatible with it. Anyway, I won't get too excited with these rumors.
 
For now I think we'd all still be fine with the normal 'next gen' consoles but if it comes to a new 'next gen' console releasing I won't be smiling too much. I've invested quite a lot in the current next gen consoles and if they release it soon I won't have enough cash to afford it... I don't mind waiting a bit longer :P
 
Can you imagine a console where you are actually in the game itself.. that would be so amazingly epic :D

However the PS4 trailer is fake, very professionally done though.

Wow, that image of the controller has been used as the "next gen controller" since the days of the PS2. Its the same script all over again, sony will as always play it safe and it will most likely not look like the boomerang in the above picture.
 
Sony won't launch PS4 before its NGP. Earliest most likely will be late 2013-2014. They will need to do away with the PS2 support completely and focus squarely PS3 and PS4. But I am sure they can probably hold it back til 2015- still a lot of life left in the PS3 (Remember before it launched, they said they were looking at a 10 year lifespan?). Hopefully on a keener price tag than PS3 launch price :P
 
PS 3 (and even Xbox 360) still has a LOT of life in it -- would be stupid of companies like MS & Sony to launch a new console before at least 2014 imho
 
I'm not in a rush, they can take their time! Would love to know what tech & new features they have in mind though... this gen brought online gaming & blu-ray to the masses so what will the next gen bring?

It would be nice to see what they have in store for us but for now I'm happy. Until I have more money :D
 
2014? ive got enough time to save for that...although im planning to go to the World Cup too:)

ill be 31 then..hopefully life wil not be too complicated;
 
I dont think it will be too soon. How big a difference can the gameplay be between what the PS3 can do now and a next-gen one? If its just a matter of minor graphic improvements, then most gamers wont go spending huge wads of cash when the PS3 works perfectly fine. 2014, yeah maybe an announcement for a new console is appropriate, but at the moment, even if the PS3 falls behind PC standards, I think its premature to release the PS4.
 
Yeah as mentioned before the PS3 haven't been 'pushed' to it's limit yet - wait 'till Uncharted is here!
 
PS4 launch details were around when the PS3 launch was out, it just a little more realistic these days as for what you can expect, there are real details just rumours and a lot of hearsay... I doubt they move away from the blu-ray format since it can hold far more than 50GB (DL-BluRay Disc) these days, last i heard they had the capacity up to 400GBs which is alot.

As for a release date, 2014 is most likely, the PS3 still has alot of feature still left ot come out, Xbox too, so the we still going to see much more added value before a new consloe is released. If you want cutting egde for now move to PC gaming... really thats where gaming began and its eventual death bed.

Well, The Wii2 is more of a competitor to the 360 and PS3 as they are CURRENTLY, than a future contender.
The Wii was extremely underwhelming in the power-to-your-punch department.

Which wasn't really its appeal in the first place. Its still selling very well. It's more the "peoples" gaming station than either the xbox or ps3.
