Ps4 !!!

Yet the Wii currently dominates the market against the 360 and the PS3...

Thats cause its not in the same market segment, its appeal is for the casual gamer and if you visit most people the Wiis are gathering dust cause they use it for social entertainment mostly if not only... Unless you have kids then they would be using it way more.

And true Wii sales did dominate, but its on a cline if it already didnt stop, where the both Xbox and PS3 are currently still selling, and the array of games on the Microsoft and Sony console is way more appealing.

To us, yes. But to "casual gamers" the wii games are sufficient so it all depends on tastes once again. Each one has it's own segment of appeal.

I'd say that Microsoft will buckle before SONY when it comes to next Gen. The PS3 can still scale its hardware up and will still perform well for a while thanks to Blu-ray and the 7 core processor (I know there are 8 but one is switched off in case of a core failure as a backup). Xbox is showing its dated hardware already with its need for an update to get more disk space.

I don't think the PS4 will be released until 2014 giving it a 8 to 9 year lifespan, then of course like the PS2 it will probably keep going for awhile.

Wow, that image of the controller has been used as the "next gen controller" since the days of the PS2. Its the same script all over again, sony will as always play it safe and it will most likely not look like the boomerang in the above picture.

and what happened to the thumb-sticks? The controller looks like it has the same amount of buttons as a 8bit nintendo.

I think it would be stupid of Sony and Microsoft bring out a newer console now, because there will be no driving factor for me to buy it. My consoles so far:

PS1 - Had a CD player, so I could listen to CDs in my room.
PS2 - Had a DVD Player, was handy when DVDs were the latest thing, and games could be bigger in size and hence better.
PS3 - Has a BluRay player, which I now use in my Home Theater as a BR player and media player

So, If they bring out a PS4 now, what would they put in it? A BluRay player again? I believe that a HUGE part of why Sony get the large amount of sales, is due to the BR player, and that the console is damn sexy and looks great on any TV stand.

XBox made a huge amount of sales, due to the fact that you could hack it and play copied games(feel free to replace aforementioned jargon with the correct). A friend of mine has 2 of these, one for online play, and another hacked one with no internet access to play the copied games on. Also, his latest XBox is his 5th one, so if MS count clients in stead of units.... What I meant to say is, there is also no upgraded media that XBox can use in a Next-Gen console right now.

PS: I will believe in a PS4 when I see it on Sony's site :) Also, that boomerang controller looks fugly, but may just be cool if it really works like a boomerang and comes back when I get a Mortal Kombat Shao Kahn bitch fit...

Ok so there is a new PS in development. I wonder how does Sony plan to pay the research bills with the massive loss with the PSN hack? Last I heard its costing them in the regon of $170 Million.

Cant say that im excited about whipping out a load of cash that I dont have, but given the fact that consoles NOW are holding back game developers, it might just be for the best

I can say I am excited about the PS4 because it means retailers pricing on the PS3 will come down which means a student like myself can snatch one up easily =D

I don't like the look of that curvy "next gen" fictitious controller though, looks uncomfortable. If Sony could buy rights to reproduce something as comfortable as the Xbox 360 controller for the PS4, then I'd be happy.

Don't know if thats actually the case. Look at some of the games available that have been properly "optimized" for the systems and then you realize that the issues aren't necessarily related to the consoles being underpowered but that the games aren't always fully optimized for the console.
