PSU Recomendations

For what it's worth, I recall Windows 7's event logger process causing random reboots. I disabled the startup script with MSCONFIG. Could also be used to systematically disable drivers etc.

Well after testing EVERYTHING I seemed to have narrowed it down to some of my rear USB ports causing my PC to shutdown. Only using the top two and I have no issues, once I add more the problem returns.

Looks like I will have to send this mobo back, meaning no PC for me for a while...

Alrighty then, further testing revealed that it may not be my USB ports after all. I'm at a loss at this point, but I have a new PSU on the way which hopefully solves the problem since at this point it's the only component I can justify as being the culprit.

Man this is driving me crazy, but cool lets see what a new psu does hope it solves it.

Dude, I'm so tired of this and the worst part is how random it is. It will happen at any time regardless of what I'm doing with the exception of when I'm playing a game, but that might just be luck.

So it's not the bloody PSU. It only seems to happen in Windows, regardless of drivers installed, tested on two different hard drives. So I'm literally out of ideas at this point and I'm actually extremely annoyed now...

Did you ever try disabling the Intel HD 4000 in device manager, and disabling any multi-monitor support in the bios?

Its a tough one and your in the cape so I can't even pop around to come have a look xD
Will think about it a bit and see if I come up with anything.

Thanks dude, at this point all that's left to test is the GPU, which I'm taking out tonight and run the onboard. If that fails I'm just sending the mobo and CPU back to Wootware for testing, since I don't have a spare socket 1155 mobo or CPU lying around to test with.

So I'm sending the MB and CPU in for testing, it can only be one of these components at this point. Hopefully Wootware can reproduce the fault and I can get a replacement.
