Q: Xbox headsets

Hi,

I like playing online split screen FPS with my wife/friends etc. So I've got a couple of headsets, cheap horrid things.

Now only the voip comes through the headsets, which is ok. But I see some headsets like this one here, give you both the voip and ingame sounds - which is pretty damn awesome.

It sucks when you go split screen then you can't make out which sounds are close to you or your mate...so now I want to know, can 2 people use these kind of headsets on one console? Surely it still wont be able to distinguish between the 2 players sounds?

I'm not 100% certain, but by the looks of it, the connector or w/e you call it on the end of the cable you plug in looks the same as the VOIP only headsets the xbox 360 currently has that plugs into each controller individually. So I don't see any reason why each player won't hear their own sound seeing as it gets plugged in on your own controller.

I dunno man...check out this pic of the cables and stuff in the set.

EDIT: I dont think its possible. Some more googling makes me come to the conclusion that the in game audio is straight from the xbox audio out and transmitted to the headphones separately, and is hence whats on the TV - which is a combination. I thought maybe the audio was miraculously fed through the usb for each set of headphones. Would be nice, but doesn't seem so.

I know the cable right at the bottom is connected directly to the controller. I don't know what the other ones do but they certainly don't seem long enough to be plugged into the headset except if you play with your face in the floor :). They look like extensions for other things, but not sure.

Sorry couldn't be of more help :D
