Racing games

I've been stalling buying a racing game on PS3 because of GT5. With it only coming MUCH later what other options are there? Also are all racing games single player nowadays?:confused: Any suggestions?
 
Dirt 2, NFS Shift, Ferrari Challenge, Supercar Challenge.

The last 2 mentioned are pretty much more sim and have a steeper learning curve.
Dirt 2 and NFS shift are quite fun actually so I'd start with those.
Also they have online communities, most racing games released these days have online MP
 
I'd go with NFS Shift - I loved it personally. I also want to get Dirt 2, but can't make recommendations as I haven't played it yet.

Thanks for the input...but both NFS and Dirt are ONLY online MP:(...also wasnt there a F1 game when PS3 was launched?

Oh you looking for splitscreen. Not a lot of those going around.
Yes there is a F1 game and its pretty rare to find actually

My lady bought me Dirt2 for my sexbox and as far as rally games goes it is the bee's knees. I enjoyed Dirt1, but this just takes it to a new level especially with the newer rally personalities on there like Ken Block and more specifically Travis Pastrana.

Dirt2 for PS3 was on special at IC for R99 even though the Xbox version is R700.
