rAge 2012 - Who's going?

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... ViperGTI now are you also not that positive ray of sunshine *cry*.

I met TheAvenged87 at rAge on SAturday. Unfortunately I didn't notice anybody else wearing their MyGaming t-shirts though.

The rAge experience was mind-blowingly wonderful. Just two things kept it from perfection in my opinion: heavy network traffic made card transaction very difficult if not impossible, and probably cost some vendors a good many sales. I also thought that the major booths could have been better signposted, and/or a floor plan might have been included in the goody-bag.

Well worth the flight from East London.

Nice meeting you, man. I struggled to see any other members there. Then again, it was terribly busy.

For some reason, I went into the Dome with lots of cash, because last year I waited 15 mins for my transaction to approve. So the card issue didn't really bug me. But I think vendors really did lose some coin because of that.

At one stage (2-3pm) the people at the doors wouldn't let people before some people left, citing that it was too full inside.

R@ge was too full i saw 1 MyG shirt the whole day but couldnt even get to that person to say hi !

I was out of town so I missed it, but my friend was working there, and he says that it was actually the fire marshals that closed the doors because it was over crowded, and also that they would have sold a lot more cool stuff, but there's a whole container of it that never got shipped to JHB thanks to the truck driver strike, so they were very low on stock.

I've been hearing rumors that there's talk of moving rage to a bigger venue next year.

Nah i managed to get vip tickets so luckily i didnt have to stand in the line

Same here. I saw a MyG guy in the queue a few okes in front of me at the media desk. But when I got through, the elusive critter was gone. Guy had glasses (not Phoenix, I met up with him later). That's why I'm asking, did you see the other MyG person in the queue?

The Dome is a lot bigger than the convention center, I think Nasrec should be the next move.

Yeah something like that. That is a very logical place to hold it. Ample parking, plenty of space, etc. You can even start sorting exhibitionists by halls. I won't be doing rAge on a Saturday at the Dome again, that shit is crazy.

That zombie got blood all over me! Had to use the crap we got in the bag to wipe it off :D

Dude the donme sucked iw as cooking in there it was so hot and crowded i msut admit there was one or 2 cosplay hotties floating around :p

They won't move it, although I agree the dome is a kak venue, they do not have enough retailers/displays/stands to justify a move.
The dome with its crappy 18 000 cap isn't quite big enough but any larger venue will be too big and they'll have to fork out more $$.

If you think about it, you pay R60 (Day pass) to get stuck in traffic, park in shitty parking, see things you've already seen or can see online, standing in a queue to buy a piece of hardware only to find the cash point not working or taking forever to work, so you save R100 on a item but you waste hours of you're life getting said item..my time is worth more than R100 lol..The list goes on..."whistling:

Have to agree on most of what you said. Put it this way, if I had to have stood in that queue I would have left immediately and gone to the pub. By the time we left at about 1:30 it was starting to get ridiculous inside. It wasn't fun. In future you have to get there early, else you will end up fighting the crowed the entire time. I want to go to the LAN next time, I think that will be awesome fun.

Nasrec was the new venue that I heard that it was moving to, we'll see next year if that was just a rumor or not I guess.

It is great that there is so much interest in a gaming expo though...even though it is kak trying to get around in there.
