rAge 2013 ticket prices and dates announced

I've stopped going because meh, everything you see at Rage you can see on the internet.

This. I would go for free stuff but it's all average stuff which isn't really worth the drive. Expo was so empty last year, same old stalls every year with nothing exciting. Even the LAN was boring, no working internet, so we could barely play what we wanted.

I've missed out on RAGE for a few years but have decided that I am definitely driving up this year — primarily to meet some clan mates and have a laff! Will have a few spaces in the car, so will probably try and convince a few Durbs mates to come up as well.

I would go if... I could play with the oculus rift. For everything else there is Mygaming and the internet.

A bit more crowd control would be nice, i.e.. regulating the incoming numbers and not just let everything and it's family tree in.

I stopped going when normal internet got better. There's just nothing interesting to see there anymore and I'm not too interested in the lan. As mentioned they just let everyone in at once it seems and the show room just because 1 giant uncomfortable squash fest at certain points. Not worth the money imo.

rAge is a place where nerds go to have fun. It is kinda lame going alone but going to rage its with friends. 3 days fun talking crap and jamming games. its rare to have 3 days to jam non stop (for me at least) Now when it comes to the expo, yes its the same stalls yes its the same thing over and over. WHY because it costs a crap load, will come back to this in a few.

The open lan yes its a leach fest but then what open lan is not. Why do they host a DC++ server when there is a issue with leaching ?
The internet issue they had well that is very very VERY easy to explane why it worked and then never worked or was slow. Three letters D G L if you went down the DGL is what rage is mainly about. They dont care about the open lan (thats what it felt like ) it was more about the DGL, witch people not in the DGL knew nothing about. NO casting no streaming no nothing This is what IEM, WCG, Blizzcom, CPL all have that rAge dose not. MSSA not with rAge (when they ment to be the base of south African gaming they hold all the cards and make all the rules ) for reasons im not sure of. So in the end there can not be good online play at the open lan when the bandwidth is allocated at the DGL.

Amine/cosplay few rAges back there was a awsome anime corner with the selling of anime as well as screening of some anime as well. Im drafting proposal for the cosplay peeps to get a VIP area, (for reasons of they are a highlight to rAge as well. The cosplay community would like to get a area in witch they can chill and not have people come and ask to do XYZ when they just stuffed them self with food. ) im sure that it can be arranged with ample time given. Media and other have allocated areas to them so i dont see a problem.

Expo i dont get why they dont liven it up abit. yes people are there for free stuff but dam if events are there people will come. Product launching, showing how the products work call people from the crowd interact man its not that hard.

There is alot the rAge can improve but if there is no vision and not enthusiasm it will stay the same.

I have alot more to say but then its going to be a 3000 word essay and that needs to be filtered before post

The Dome was a fail last year - the Expo has outgrown the Dome. The only way they can make this a success is if they limit ticket sales and/or have proper crowd control (which they won't)... Don't see how this will be any diff from last year, which got less than stellar reviews.

yea they need to have a better look at this event and what they want to do with it as well as what they want in the future
