Hi All
There is a ton of info on the web about rage issues
But I cannot find anything that explains this(and I do not know what to call it)

I have a radeon mobilty HD 3450(crap I know), and the game itself runs pretty smooth but it looks all wrong.
I have installed the latest ATI drivers, and the game is updated(steam does so automatically)

Do I really need the rage specific driver or is this a settings issue?

Its a rage issue some don't have it some have it the last updated apperantly made it a bit better but clearly not!

Woah, "looks all wrong" is quite an understatement. That is plain broken. :( Pretty extreme texture corruption.

Normally that is caused by faulty hardware or faulty drivers but with Rage it's hard to tell since the way it does things is so broken. Try check out this guide and see if it helps. Otherwise contact Steam support and see if maybe they know what the cause could be.

Might be that your GPU. It does not meet the minimum requirements, it lists the HD4200 as the minimum required card to play. Could be cause of the texture corruption.

however there is a config for 512Mb display cards give it a try and see if it helps.

New config for 512-<1GB vram

Mostly for 512mb-1GB video cards. For 1GB and above use one of the two versions at the top of the page. If you have a 512mb video card this may make it run worse or cause artifacting such as a blue color everywhere. This is primarily for cards with >700mb of vram. If it causes too much hitching/stuttering make sure you turn off antialiasing. Use at your own risk with less than 512mb of vram.

This new update should make it okay to run on 512mb cards.
