Simple review thread now that rAge is over I'm keen to see which games you played, what you liked and didn't.
I left my reviews in the other thread and might bring them over here and flesh em out if need be.

So to start

F1 2013
Batman origins
Southpark
Forza
Skylanders swap force

The bad

The crew
CoD ghosts
Fifa
Need for speed
Telkom stand

The ugly

Notable mentions

Mmmm I think your brother in law is biased lol

All my mates said both those stands were crap and could have been much better.
Dunno man, got it from 2 sources. PS4 stand was packed, while the Xbone stand was virtually empty.

The PS4 stand was packed because it was so badly designed that only a handfull of people could fit in at any given time to see the consoles in actions.
The Xbone stands were free flowing and had lines longer than the food stalls with people lining up to play.

I was very amped to see the PS4 in action but was sadly let down by their execution.

At the very least get a nice big screen above the section mirroring one of the screens so people can see it in action without having to cramp into your 1 meter wide alley. There was so much wrong with how many of the stalls were organized. The best one by far for me was the indie gamer section. They interacted with the crowds, there were many playable games. Enough room to move about. Just overall great stuff.

I felt bad for the artists, the got shafted with crappy layouts.

The ninty stand was good as always. Telkom was just taking up space but along with Alienware there was some good work with the cosplayers which I had to applaud. Safact being there was an absolute joke. It's like the secretary general of the UN hanging out at a blackmarket arms trade trying to preach Taoism.

The Good:

I got to play Batman: Arkham Origins and Battlefield 4, and these are 2 games I was surely getting, but I'm glad to have had that idea reaffirmed. I loved the little segment I played on Origins (it's a Batman game, it's obviously awesome), and WB Games are doing the game Justice (see what I did there :p? No? Okay:o). Battlefield 4 surprised me in how different the gameplay feels when compared to BF3, but it was definitely a pleasant surprise. I was deeply impressed by both games.

Call of Duty: Ghosts, now that game's presentation may not have been the best, but it was a good showing nonetheless, I think it was the 1st time I've actually had to consider both the premier shooters this year.

The Crew and NFS seem like games I'll enjoy playing.

The Underwhelming:

Ryse
The Xbox One Stand and The PS4 Stand, especially since both had FIFA 14 on display when I got to them >__>

The Downright Odd:

I was curious (and bit vexed) about FIFA 14 going into the expo, because, you know, new engine and all that, except for current gen and PC (the source of my vexation). So, how different is FIFA 14 from 13? It is slightly different, but I don't see why they needed a new engine since the difference can be likened to the difference in FIFA 13 and FIFA 12. If I wasn't sure about not bothering with the game, I am now, especially if the next gen iteration looks like what I expected from the current gen version of FIFA 14.

Conclusion:

All in all rAge was a great experience for a 1st timer:D, but that isn't to say there weren't a few things that could've been done better.

This indeed, i played the hell out of this game.
zX - Hyperblast The developer was awesome and walked me through some of the technical things while I smashed that controller for winz.

By the way, I realize the Dendi thing was for the best, because in all our jealous rage (I'm here all week :D), some of us were going to hunt you down :p

I think perhaps next year I'll get a weekend pass. Then I can split everything I want to see into 2/3 days and take my time.

Wahaha. Indeed. Given the tiny stand steelseries had that guy would've caused a traffic jam of note!
Did you check the DJ spinning dub step near the ninty stand? Guy had mad skillz. Got a nice vid I intend on putting on that social media web site.

Truer words have never been spoken. To add to what you said I think the another "Good" would be NBA 2k14; and a definite "Odd" would be the implementation of the DGL area. Also one thing rAge did do was to truly highlight how the Xbox360 and PS3 are showing their age. Really jarring to go from Ryse to Lightning Returns[on a technical level]; makes you realise that the time is truly ripe for Next-Gen hardware.
