Book - Southern Vampires (1): Dead Until Dark

It's the basis for the TV series called "True Blood." The beginning was tedious, followed by random dramatical bits and a very dramatic finish. All in all it was a good read, albeit a tad cliche'd with regards to vampires and their way of life. The setting and main character are not things I can identify with at all, but it was different and helped to make things slightly more interesting.

Author: Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo

Seriously one stupid book, i knew everything that was all ready in it. And the stories they made up were so slapstick it's just irritating.

Confessions Of An Economic Hitman.
Author: John Perkins
10/10

Just read the damn thing! Seriously on of the coolest books I have ever read.

The Scar - China Mieville
8/10

This a side story to Perdido Street Station.
It lacked the authenticity and the grittiness of the characters that Perdido Street Station had.
All and all a good read if you are looking for something that is NOT your classic fantasy template.

Book - Confessions of a Crap Artist
Author - Philip K Dick

One of his non-sci fi books. Was an enjoyable read, he got the characters down well.

But I kept longing for some kind of super-natural or tech event to happen. Guess I'm just too used to his sci fi stuff :P

Stolen Throne by David Gaider. The Dragon Age Origins Novel.

7/10. Pretty good story and I like the writing but then I have liked all Gaider's writing in all of his games. But it was good for a first novel. I liked how there was no happy ending for anyone.

The Silmarillion
Authors: J.R.R. & Christopher Tolkien
Rating - 10/10

It revolves around the history of the Lord of the rings fantasy. Explaining where the elves, men, dwarves, orcs, etc. come from as well as the hierarchy including the Balrog (10 of them were the bodyguard's of Sauron's master, Melkor) to name but a few. Extremely interesting, but complex reading.

The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring

You all know the story :). Minus the Old Forest bit.

Kinda sucks how they left out the whole story with Tom Bombadil. :(

* And Radagast the Brown, who was the one who summoned the eagle king to save Gandalf *

Yeah, I found their omissions to be rather strange because they are such an integral part of the tail. But it doesn't matter I suppose, Peter Jacksons Lord of the Ring and J.R.R. Tolkiens are two different beasts, meant to be enjoyed in different ways :D.

I'm watching True Blood now. Very adult! But kinda boring.

Last book I read was Peter Straub - Ghost Story. An excellent read.

I'm reading the second Southern Vampires at the moment. I'm enjoying it a lot more than the first. It's a lot more adult too haha. Somehow vampire sex just doesn't do it for me though :D

Carpe Jugulum by Terry Pratchett.

As good as Pratchett usually is up in Lancre.
I can't help but feel that whatever social commentary or satire he may be delivering is lost on me though. Well, the critics seems to see things I don't. I'm just htere for the jokes and the story.
