Assassin's Creed Revelations - 8/10

The games are getting a bit old and I hate some of the "mini-games" they are putting in like the "defend the base" and in Brotherhood there was those "Prince of Persia"-type stages. Love the story though. I think this game was much shorter than the others in the series, but I was ok with that.

I agree there is too much fluff. I did like that the mini-games where optional. I did all of 1 tower defence game and that was the tutorial. Training up assassin's was also better implemented than in Brotherhood but once I got my 7 Master Assassin's I stopped sending them on missions and only had control of 3 of the Mediterranean cities. I did miss the pure platform levels but liked that each of the 5 key locations required you to do something a little different, it wasn't all just platforming.

It took me about 25 hours to finish it but only about 5-7 to do the main quest. I focussed on training up my assassin's so I could use the arrow storm ability more often.

I really hope they bring in some major changes for AC3 but keeps what worked & remove some of the fluff that crowded the games brilliant story.

Skyrim: 9/10

Excellent game, nice big world, lots of characters, lots of skills and perks. But the dragons are more like flying komodo dragons than dragons of lore should be, they should be helluva difficult to beat, and I have no problem killing them...

Assassin's Creed: Revelations (Xbox 360)
7/10
Decent game, just didn't tickle my fancy as much as Brotherhood or ACII did. IMO Brotherhood was the better game out of the last three. Revelations had too many 'unnecessary' stuff - like the Desmond missions weren't exactly what I expected from a game like Assassin's Creed, and the Tower Defence games weren't exactly 'fun' either. But the thing that keeps Assassin's Creed going strong its it's story and it was a good way to conclude Ezio/Altair's stories. The Multiplayer is very fun and I was pretty captivated by all the new improvements made. Don't write this game off completely - it is a pretty decent one :D

Saints Row 3 (Xbox 360)
8.5/10

Some background first: Im not one too get addicted to GTA Sandboxes. I've always just messed around killing people doing my own thing and once I'm bored of it, I go play another game. Never finished San Andreas, GTA4 etc.

So when I played Saints Row The Third I found that it was surprisingly very good. The storyline is not the longest but felt just right in length and entertainment. And honestly every mission felt different. I think that is what got me to finish the game, compared to the GTA ones.

I've heard from other people playing the campaign online doubles the fun, but alas, getting the game a bit late, most people had already finished it.

I've played a bit after finishing the game, as you can replay almost all the mission types within the it. The only thing that I thought could be improved is the world and the environment itself. Most of the world were like empty blocks.

All in all, a very good game for people while they wait for GTA5

Infamous 2

8.5/10

Big improvement over the original, lots of fun to mess around with Cole's powers and relatively easy to platinum. Definitely one of the best PS3 exclusives.

L.A. Noire

8/10

This game was way better than I expected. The mechanics do start to become repetitive about 3/4 into the game but it never stopped me from enjoying it to the very end.

The game is absolutely huge and I shudder to think what it must have cost to develop. If you like solving crimes and enjoy playing in ye olde time periods then this is a must play.

So I got into the beta of Dota 2 and wow! It's awesome! I must give credit to the guys at Valve. They took all the issues from War3 Dota and have produced a winner! Game ruining is almost non existent cause you can reconnect if you get DC'd. Except the other day, where a guy had Chen and kept sending ppl back to base for giggles. So lame. But yeah anyway 10/10 would be too biased so 9.5/10.

Also played Nation Red on the weekend while it was free and oh my what an addictive little shooter. So I bought it while on special. And loving it! Gets quite challenging when loads of zombies start attacking from all around you. But I'll give this guy an 8/10

The Stanley Parable - free source mod:
8.5/10
A very well made mod that combines humor, a interesting story, multiple endings and incredible narration - Its only real flaw is that the level design is not fantastic - but in a weird way it fits with the theme... Not to mention that it is a free source mod.

Played this the other night, I agree it's very good. The first thing I did was do the opposite of what I was told to thinking it'd just reset me or something - boy was I surprised with the results. Looking forward to more of this mod.

Saints Row The Third (Pc)

Played it on Max graphics and I had a ball. The game is gorgeous, the game play is fine, camera angles were great as well.
Its a huge amount of fun, offering a ton of things to do..The main plot is a bit short, and I feel the map/city could have been a lot bigger. Other than that a great game.

8/10

Hehe i did the exact same thing, also - if you haven't already - check out...

Dear Esther:

Another source mod that was very well made, the story is quite strange but the mapping and narration is what makes it 'Special' Everyone might not like this mod but definitively check it out and try if for yourself.

8/10

Ya Dear Esther also looks good. I'm wondering if I shouldn't just wait for the full retail release (looks amazing!) but I saw on their webpage they're suggesting the mod as a demo for the game so I think I'll give it a try.

SWTOR - 7.5

It's realy realy awesome, but there are many things they could improve! allot of stuff a MMORPG needs imo and if they were to add these things the game would be almost 10/10

Mafia 2 - 9/10 the crap thing about it is it ends.
Uncharted 1 - 7/10 shooty bits get old and enemies eat bullets for dindins.
MassEffect 2 - 9/10 all round great game but resource collecting sucks balas

Skyrim - 8/10. What a huge open world to explore. It lost 2 points due to occasional random crashes and various niggly little bugs that haven't been addressed.

Battlefield 3 - 9/10. I have not been so addicted to a FPS in years. Usually FPS game give me motion sickness but I haven't had that problem as yet. It lost a point due to an initial punkbuster problem that kept booting us after two mins (that was solved with a bit of googling and a reinstallation of punkbuster).

Tomb Raider Underworld (PS3)

I enjoyed the game overall, even though I had to restart a few times due to bugs.

(7.5/10)
