Half Life 2 Episode Two

It's Half Life and that rocks. You got to admire how Valve try their best to give you something different around every corner. I look forward to the third chapter.

One thing though, the whole game was very easy up until the end. Man I know a lot of people loved that last battle but I found it frustratingly difficult. I probably spent about 3 hours on that last battle alone. Eh I have no idea why. I'm hoping that other people found it difficult as well.

Sacred 2 on PC.

Very fun for a while, then it becomes amazingly apparent how shallow this game is.

The environments really do look amazing on a graphical level. In comparison to the videos of Diablo III, they really are far, far superior. There is a lot of love in the details to the world, and you can see this game was truly a labor of love.

However for an Action RPG this game really has far too much streamlining (may have to do with making it console convenient). It feels like too much is automated, or taken out of your hands with reduced longterm options, even when considering this genre of RPG.

You will basically be using the exact same combat abilities from level 1 all the way to maximum level. It feels like there is nothing to really look forward to; you will have access to everything largely from the start of the game. The armor is largely over recycled, both in looks and in Item Sets themselves. There seem to be only a handful of Item Sets, which come in different level requirements, but will look the same, and with only stat / skill increments.

Overall if you love this genre it is a pretty good buy, but if you are looking for an Action RPG along the lines of say Diablo II, well then you will be disappointed.

Finished Mass Effect. Upping my score to 9.3.

It's got an amazing story with tons of lore. If you haven't played this yet, I'd highly recommend it.

Problems I found:
AI: While taking cover, my team mates decide that its a very good idea to stick at my flank. So while I'm perfectly covered, they die almost instantly.

Side quests got a bit boring and I had a feeling that leveling, credits and gel was pointless.

Braid

Braid is not a game for everyone. Braid is art. It is beautiful, deep, emotional and well thought out. After finishing the game I did some research about the story and the ending and it really is extraordinary. If anyone still has to play this, make sure to know as little about the story as possible before playing it. After finishing it you have this "wow" feeling.

Do know that Braid is tough. I had to play it in short sittings because otherwise it would have made me pull my hair out. There was a day when I thought I would never be able to finish it because I just couldn't finish a certain puzzle. But once you do it, I cannot begin to describe the relief and the pride of actually having done it.

I am not going to describe what Braid is and how it works. There are tons of reviews out there. I will just say that if you are a little more intelligent than the average person then try out Braid. It's well worth it.

I'm taking "last game" as the "newest game" I've played.

Wolfenstein: 90%

It is simply a fantastic game. It took the open world feature that is absolute phail in most other games because it tends to make the games repetitive and laborious, but in Wolfenstein it was pure joy. And thats just for starters.

The style of the combat gameplay I think is one of a kind, it manages to blend old-school shooter style with the newer, more tactical styles very well. They do this by alowing you to out-pace the types of enemies that need you to be mobile (heavy plasma troopers, sniffers, etc), and alow you to out-think enemies that need duck-and-cover tactics. (standard soldiers)

The graphics realy aren't anything to shout about, theres nothing revolutionary there, but thats another great thing, it was the smoothest running game I've played in months.

The loads of weapons to carry around was a nice return to the old-school styles again, but a small thing is I would have liked to have the MP-44 replaced with the parratrooper rifle from the previous RTCW. But the upgrades system worked quite well.

Story wise it was not the most captivating sage ever, but God Damn it if it didn't make you feel as bad-ass Blacowics himself.

All-in-all, it was a great game and it makes me want MOAR.

A few more to rate:

New Prince of Persia: 98%
The in-ability to die and a rather unsatesfying ending is the 2% bad. But everything elce is pure win.

CoD5 - WaW: 75%
It's great, its CoD damnit! But CoD4 was more satesfying.

Forza 3 - xbox 360 (8/ 10)

Not graphical wise better than Forza 2 but the cars and the engine sounds!!! Love it.

Uncharted 2 - 96/100
And now Borderlands, which is also excellent. I'm thinking around a 92/100 so far.
