Orcs Must Die! - 9/10

Turns out, I really like tower defence games. This was very good though. Humorous, beautiful graphics, lots of levels... Great game.

The Void - 75%
This is unlike anything I've ever played before. Quite interesting, very philosophical and it took me forever to complete.

Binary Domain - 75%
This game I would place somewhere between Alpha Protocol and Mass Effect. This is not a RPG, but the dialogue, story and team members are similar to that of Mass Effect for instance. The game has great graphics and a good story. It does get a bit repetitive as you're mostly shooting and robots that refuse to die, but overall, definitely worth getting on special.

Finished the original Half Life the other day. I can see why it was such a big deal back then, once I got used to the dated textures I really got immersed in the game. It seems that games of that era were a bit tougher and required a bit more thought and strategy. It's old school but still cool :D
9/10

And now some games I'd left for a while and finished recently (inspired by this Thread)

Warp
Seriously fun little game with some entertaining puzzles. You're a small alien with the ability to warp into people and objects (and make them explode from the inside) while trying to escape an underwater research facility.
8/10

Alpha Protocol
Thanks to some MyG forum members' comments I decided to give this game a go despite the stories of its lack of polish and bugginess. I'm glad I did. The influence of your actions and words on the direction of the plot was worth any glitchy gameplay, and I actually found that the gameplay wasn't all that bad once you got into it. The boss fights could be frustrating, especially if you had chosen to upgrade stealth attributes (sound familiar?). It was actually because of one particular boss fight that I was stuck on that I stopped playing for a while. All in all, the fact that I may just play through the game again one day to check out the alternative choices speaks for itself.

Just Cause 2 - 8/10

Hour upon hours of chaotic fun, and it has an interesting plot as well.
The only 2 issues I have with the game are:
1. Your weapon carrying capacity limitation. Only 2 handguns and 1 "heavy" weapon.
2. The Black Market. If you buy a $30 000 plane now and you wreck it later, you have to buy it again, at full price. Same goes for the weapons. I bought 2 Rico signature hand cannons at $40 000 a pop, ran out of ammo, had to buy new ones

Other than that, it really is a awesome game, your freedom in the open world (and it's BIG) is almost limitless.

Spec Ops The Line 9/10

WoW, first game in a long time that has left me thinking after I finished it. The ending is a real dozy and I will need to play it again before I fully grasp what exactly is going on.
Game has a few niggly bits but its easily overlooked in light of the awesome experience. I highly recommend this for anybody looking for an deep experience rather a superficial shooter.

Quantum of Solace: 7.5/10

A great FPS game set in the James Bond universe. A good mixture of action and stealth. The only problem is that it is very short and took me less than 8 hours to finish.

Sleeping Dogs - Xbox 360

Decent game with an okay ish plot. Like most sandbox games it was at its best when you followed the missions, the side distractions where a little mundane and lacked variation but it was fun none the less. If you haven't tried it already be sure to grab it when it hits budget.

Diablo 3

8.5/10

Not to bad game. Just paragon system to late. And design in regards to MF/GF didn't take into account the effect of the AH on game play.
The way they did the skill does allow one to experiment but the problem comes in that skills might need a specified attribute on your gear to be affective. Like whirlwind for the Barbarian works well if one has lots of LOH. Thus leads back to the MF/GF problem.

Sould Caliber V: 6/10.
Not a bad game overall but the Japanese-style acting and bad voice over and translation gets to me a bit.

Darksiders I - 8.5/10

Really enjoyed the game, it might be a bit repetitive but still an awesome game, I'd recommend to any Hack n Slash RPG fans.

Darksiders II 9.5/10. I loved everything about this game from the awesome art direction to the great voice acting and story, the awesome new character (and everything that entails), the added RPG elements and the awesome worlds to explore, etc. A really good tie-in story to the original Darksiders. I can easily recommend this to people who enjoyed the first game and hack 'n slash fans in general. It took me about 26 hours to finish, but I'm far from done. Already started my new game + on Apocalyptic and this time around I'm going for all the side quests and as much collectibles as I can find. It doesn't get a perfect score because the camera can get annoying at times and sometimes Death will jump in the wrong direction during platforming sections.

Dear Esther - I knew that this was not a game in the normal sense of the word, more like a journey of both storytelling and art. It took a while to get used to but I think I eventually got what the "game" is all about. The way that the recollections and the environment complement each other is great. And the environment! The Island is really the character that will stick with me, from the depressing moors to the astonishing caves.

One annoyance was that at times you noticed a brief stutter just before a part of narration, a bit immersion breaking but it either got better further into the "game" or I stopped noticing. So not a major problem.

As an experience I'd say 8.5/10

Retro Grade (PSN)

8/10

I'm not really a big fan of rhythm games but Retro Grade was actually pretty damn cool.

Field Runners 2 (iOS)

If you are really into tower defence games, this is a must play. The new fields are awesome and well thought out, the towers are pretty cool and have enough variety for different types of play styles, whether you prefer the single lane lazers or the awesome lightning / tesla style tower or the good ol machine guns. This game is addictive as hell and will definitely have you coming back for more.

I would give it 8.5 / 10
