Gemini Rue - PC

I have wanted to play this game for so long now and was very happy when I won it in SteamGifts. It took me a while to get into the whole point and click adventure thing again. It's definitely not an instant gratification kind of game! But the more I played the more I got dragged into the world and the story.

The story is truly excellent and I like the atmosphere of Gemini Rue. I don't think it's a must play title though. It's good but there are better games out there.

Sniper Elite VII - 6.892/10

It was pretty fun at first but I lost interest about 4 hours in. The sniping gets pretty old pretty quickly and the superficial stealth elements don't really work.

Mass effect 2

Wasn't a bad game really enjoyed it. Though the combat isn't its strong suit. Liked the story.

need to get hold of mass effect 3 now :p

South Park: The Stick of Truth (PC)

Ever since I first heard that Obsidian was making a South Park game I knew I had to get it. Then when it was released I was shocked by how much it cost. Luckily I got the game as a birthday present.

I enjoyed the game a lot and it made be laugh quite often. It really is like an interactive episode and they did an excellent job of recreating the look and feel of the show.

Is it a must play though? Only if you really like South Park. It's a great South Park game but only a good game when compared to others.

To The Moon (PC)

To The Moon is one of those games that always get mentioned when people talk about emotional games like The Walking Dead and Brothers. So I had to try it out.

It's definitely not up to the caliber of the other two games I mentioned but I still enjoyed it and will definitely play episode 2 when it comes out.

I just feel that the game has so much potential that was wasted. The idea for the story is excellent, as is the mood that it creates. The gameplay consists of collecting orbs which means walking around and clicking on some things and then when you find all the orbs you have to do a little puzzle. The puzzles especially were pointless. I really feel more could have been done with the gameplay.

The music is outstanding! I wish the developer went with a different graphical look though. The current one worked at times but just didn't fit with the idea in my opinion.

Nier (XBox 360)

I read somewhere that Nier has an excellent ending and the style of the game appealed to me so I tried it out.

It took me a long while to finish and I almost gave up a couple of times. This game can easily be used in a game design class to show what not to do. I mean there are little annoyances like having to stand in exactly the right spot to be able to interact with something to box pushing puzzles (tons of them!) to weird camera perspective changes where the controls would suddenly work differently.

The first time when I almost quit the game was when I had to do some fishing in the game to progress the main story. You meet up with a guy that gives you a tutorial and then you try it over and over and over again. You fail and then there's just really annoying animation. I'm sure I spent over 2 hours trying to get that right. Because after some googling I saw that it was a design flaw. You see, the beach where you the tutorial guy is, well you can't fish there because your fishing level is too low. So you have to go to a different beach and fish there. I swear the designer should be shot in the leg for that one.

Another part I went through a whole area just to fall through a hole at the end and find that there's no boss there. I thought WTF. It turns out that only after receiving a letter at my house in the game was I supposed to go through that area. So I had to go get that letter and then go through the whole area again (all the enemies respawned). Annoying as hell.

So what was good about the game? Well it had such a good idea for a story, especially with some of the bits that were revealed towards the end. They could have done it a million times better though. Even the grand reveal was done in a stupid way.

Some of the boss fights were pretty amazing though.

Overall I won't recommend Nier to anyone. I'm proud of myself for actually finishing it. Now that I saw the actual ending if I could go back in time I would not have bothered.

Watchdogs (PC)

I must admit, I was one of the lucky ones. Had maybe 5 crashes in my entire playthrough with 3 of them happening during the very last mission of the game before completion. Other than that, maybe a few graphics glitches but nothing that had me frustrated or anything.

I quite enjoyed the game. I didn't have any expectations for it and didn't follow all the hype around the game so I basically just started playing, not really knowing what to expect except for hacking stuff. It was nice playing something a bit different from what I'm used to. That said, I'm done now and moving on to the next game. Like most of Ubisoft games, I probably won't be replaying this (at least not anytime soon, if ever), but the important part is that I was entertained. Will get the sequel when released.

Thanks for that! Appreciated.

I approve of this game!
Only downside for me is that it feels like it should have a NewGame+, but then it just doesn't :(
I can't give an extensive review since I suck at these things.

Bioshock Infinite (PC)

It looks like Bioshock Infinite is a game that you either love or hate. I've seen people complain about the shooting mechanics and some people have said it's boring. I loved it. It was absolutely amazing and it's one of the best games I've ever played.

From the beginning I was hooked and I couldn't wait to continue. I never got bored and I found the shooting mechanics to be perfect.

I loved the story and I loved how Elizabeth showed emotions and most of all I loved the ending. It was Zero Punctuation's game of 2013 and I couldn't agree more. It is a masterpiece.

Now I just have to wait until the DLC goes on special again so that I can play that too.

I agree with your views. I picked up the Season Pass during SSS and it's been well worth it so far. Getting back to Rapture has been a lot of fun thus far!

Thomas Was Alone (PC)

I first got Thomas Was Alone in a bundle that I bought and when I saw that it's a puzzle type game with little blocks I gave the game away on SteamGifts. Then Afterwards I heard how good it is so I kept trying to win one again and managed to do so in the end.

The game succeeds in making you feel for the little blocks that you control and the narrator is very good. The levels were all quite easy except in some cases where precision platforming is required. I don't care much for precision jumping in all honesty.

The game is good but I definitely don't see it as a must play game. If you have it and you have a couple of hours to spare then it'll be worth it. If you didn't get it in a bundle then I don't really see it as worthwhile buying.

Completely agree here, this is one title that I absolutely loved. It's nice to see such creativity bundled with such a simplistic graphics style and able to pull it off. Proof that games don't need to be graphically enhanced and min-blasting!

Though I would rate it a bit higher. IMHO.

My sentiment exactly. I loved this game. It had a great story and every character had it's own back story that just made the game even better. IMO

Brothers : A Tale of two Sons 8/10. Would like some more of this. Played on PS3.
infamous 2 8/10. Enjoyed this more than I though I would. Playing this made me want to get Second Son on PS4. Anybody got a copy they would like to sell :)

Sweet stuff...lots of ideas for other games to look out for!

Recently played Monochroma and I'd have to give it at least 8/10 (however perhaps not for everyone). I'll admit that I played in 30-90 minute intervals (time sadly, is just not a luxury anymore these days). Anyway I digged it (if you liked Limbo you'll most likely get a kick out of this so keep an eye out for a special or something). It was also dark initially for my first playthrough however you can check out SweetFX (it really is magnificent). Just look it:
H E R E ! ! !

Also currently replaying the original Starcraft (from my fancy-wancy flash drive that I got with the "cool" collection lol). It still rocks Starcraft_SC1_Cover1.jpg

I just finished Bf4 singleplayer campaign and I must say it was way better than Bf3 campaign but I suppose thats not saying much.Mp is awesome though playing on ps4.6.5 sp 9 mp

hehe, weird, I loved the BF3 sp campaign much more, but most ppl seem to enjoy the BF4 one more. Yeah, BF4 MP is awesome. I have sunk about 170 hours into it, paltry compared to other players, but still lots of fun.
