Razer unveils PC gaming revivalist grand plan

It looks like a nice toy to have, but for the 3 people that can afford to throw money away on this, it's hardly a savior. You can't even really show off with this, people will just laugh at the fact that you paid R20k for it. If it was around R15k, then sure.

To "save" PC gaming you need a High End PC that's console sized (maybe even style it to look like a console) and bundle it with an HDMI cable and a wireless xbox controller. And price it at around R3000 - is that even possible? I guess you'd need to sell high volume to make it work.. Though I think PC gaming doesn't need saving - its just fine :)

^ Exactly. PC Gaming doesn't need saving. It's perfectly fine the way it is. Razer is just trying to get some hype going.

I like the design and the concept but for 21k? Nuh-uh...

Not exactly anything like their original concept which was suppose to be almost like a dedicated ultra portable gaming device not just another insanely expensive laptop.

Also I don't understand the bull calling this the world first gaming laptop, Dell and Alienware have been making gaming laptops for a long time.

Just borrow a super-computer from NASA or somewhere, I'm pretty sure that you could make it play games a bit better(and possibly cheaper) than the laptop they released ;)

No other platform gives me more precision in gaming than my trustworthy old standard keyboard + mouse.

And it is way more customizable and upgradable than any laptop will ever be, so it will last much much longer.

I really expected something completely different than a laptop. And an expensive one at that. Sadly, you would be able to buy every console on the market and still have some change left instead of buying the laptop.

So saving PC gaming was a bit of a failed marketing point (not that PC gaming needs any saving, IMHO).

They just want monies lol.... everyone wants to save PC gaming, its doing just fine... just bring on the games...
That is all.

And here I was hoping they would bring out a keyboard that changes icons on the keys depending on the game your in..
meh

Gimme a laptop that can be modded like a PC, has the same availability of parts as well as keeping the weight of a laptop but 20 times the punch and at half that jokes price and I'll THEN only consider a gaming laptop :-P Or I'll just have to wait till I finish my degree and earn a decent salary to upgrade every year or 2 XD
