Seriously, WTF is wrong with some of you??? Big Korn bites and Ultra Mel?? Slap chips and ice cream??? And who the fuck eats asparagus?? Jirre nee. Kelevra, I suspect you simply taking the piss??

I just threw up in my mouth!

Come, how about some nice normal recipes. You know, something you might actually be able to order in a restaurant and not something they feed people in the gulag. And not something just copied and pasted. Recipes you have actually made and enjoyed.

No,I'm not taking the piss Den.It's not that bad...

I was to lazy to type this up again so I copied it from the pm Green_Orb sent me a while back

+- 2 pounds of pumpkin (maybe even a little more) (I used about 1kg of butternut)
6 tablespoons butter
2.5 tablespoons olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
+- 7 cups boiling water
2.5 cups Italian Arborio rice
0.75 cups grated Parmesan
Salt
2 Chicken stock cubes
1 flattened Chicken schnitzel per person
Flour
Herbs
Pepper

Peel the pumpkin and discard the seeds. Cut the flesh into small pieces.

Heat half the butter and all the oil in a large pan, and saute the onion very gently until soft but not brown. Add the pumpkin, pour over 1 cup boiling water, season to taste with salt, add the chicken stock cube and continue cooking for 15 minutes, or until the pumpkin is tender.

Stir the rice in thoroughly but gently, and continue cooking until it has absorbed the liquid. Pour in another cup of boiling water as the rice dries out, and continue adding water in this manner until all the water has been absorbed and the rice is tender. This will take about 20 minutes.

Stir in the remaining butter and the cheese very gently, cover the pan and leave the risotto for 2 minutes to settle. Serve hot, sprinkled generously with additional grated Parmesan cheese.

To cook the chicken, add salt, pepper, herbs and chicken stock cube to the flour. Lightly coat the chicken in the flour. Add some butter (excluded from the above measure) and a small measure of olive oil to a pan. Cook thoroughly. Serve on top of the Risotto.

This is honestly my new fav food. I could live off it !

And the rest of you seem to live off snacks and junk food. LEARN TO COOK! Its fun!

Tsar's melted cheeze

Get two or more slices of bread
Spread tomato sauce on top(all gold is what I use)
Grate cheese and put it on top of the tomato sauce
then put in oven grill till the cheese is completely melted.

For added flavour sprinkle some aramat (spelling)

Best mushroom sauce. But either the Royco or Knorr Mushroom Sauce packet. Then chop some shrooms and fry up in butter and tiny bit of garlic in a saucepan. Take them out the pan and keep aside. Then add a tub off normal fresh cream (250ml and add packet powder. Keep stirring while it heats through. When warm add shrooms and as soon as it's ready, basically it's heated through and just started bubbling, serve with steak, burgers, chips or whatever you fancy.

Ok this isn't really a recipe but i like it.

During the winter on a Friday night, i "braai" steak the following way if it's to cold to do it outside. I take 400g rump/sirloin about 4-5cm thick (lekker verouderd), dribble a little olive oil over it, spice it with salt & pepper.

Take a "riffeltjie pan" and warm it up to very hot on the stove. Put in one streak at a time and just "maak dit skrik" to give it the nice spur look. Take the steak and microwave it for 1 minute and 45 seconds. Leave it for about 5 minutes and put on the table with a delicious hot cheese/mushroom/pepper sauce. If it is really cold i just "maak dit skrik" in the pan again.

dis nooit te fokken koud om te braai nie! dis hoekom die vuur daar is! om jou ook warm te hou

Probeer dit net 1 keer. Smaak net so lekker soos buite gebraai. Man as jy 3 stoutgat kinders het wat om jou rondhardloop wat jy moet probeer uit die vuur hou, nie genoeg dop, dan is dit die ideale oplossing. (Dis net vir my en my vroutjie)

Gooi die kinders in die vuur. 1ste probleem opgelos. As hulle eers weg is, dan kan jy weer dop beskostig. Easy peasy.

ek sal die steak eerder in a riffel pan maak op n gas plaat voor ek dit nuke in die mikrogolf oond

I assume these are both available at Pick 'n Pay?

Yip. The Ina Paarmens spice not critical. Robertsons Lemon and herb will also work. It's just to mix in the flour. Mix fliour and spice in a freezer bag and then chuck in chicken. Make sure all the chicken has a light coating of flour and then quickly brown.

We had this on Monday and it was awesome, again.
