Hi

I am due for some service award money and have decided that I would like to put it towards buying a television set for use with my Xbox 360 and Wii.

Are there any brands and models within my budget that I should look at in particular, or are they all much of a muchness at that price point?

Thanks

Sinotec had some nice stuff that cheap, butyou can allways go a little more complex, but a LCD PC screen thats the right size, could be anywhere between 2 to 3 grand, some speakers (R500 to R1500) and one of those adapters to plug all the DSTV and other cables into it. (R500)

Wow Phoenix, moving up in life :)

Sinotech's always been fine for me and damn good value for money incl. 5yr warranties. Also have a look at Game for certain Samsungs. But you'll definitely be able to grab a 42" sinotech for around that price, if not then a full HD 32" screen or so.

Yeah I got a 42 inch full HD sinotec from Game a couple months ago. Awesome to play xbox on! Check out Game and Makro, they normally have a rule that if you find the same model cheaper elsewhere, they will drop thier price to beat it! I got my TV for R4500

Would that involve taking an advert from a competing store to GAME?

I see that GAME are advertising a Logik 42 inch full HD LCD for R4799 as one of their Vincent Park opening specials.....definitely
going to see whether they have something similar in the 32 inch range.

Oooh......32 inch HD ready Sinotec going for R2999 at GAME from 25-28 November.
There is also a 1080p model for R3699.
Hmmmm......

What bothers me is that there is next to no information on these Sinotech models [MP-32HC40 and MP32KE63FHD] online,
so I have no idea what the response rate on these displays is like.

I wonder whether they would be so obliging as to hook up an XBox to whatever tv I wanted to look at......

THere is also a SONY KDL-32EX400, but that is out of my price range by R700

With some help from my brother, I bought my Samsung on Sunday morning. Now to [hopefully] sort out the poor TV reception by buying an extension cable for my bunny ears and playing said aerial at the highest reachable point in my room.
