"whistling:

I recorded my first game last night with MSI Afterburner.
Then spent a while trying to learn how to use Avidemux to edit it.
Was able to load 2 vids to YouTube.
Never used anything in these fields before, so not a bad effort imo.
Will look at getting better quality ones tonight tho.

Its an option, but I'd prefer sound. I've pretty much got my recording working fine. Now editing is the next challenge. Busy acquiring Adobe Premier.

My frames generally get locked at 48 by fraps when I record, which is still very playable. And videos don't really need anything more than 24 fps.

yeah but i think its better to keep it at 60 FPS so that u can stil play good well that from my PC its not that wow of a PC but it gets the job done

Just wanted to add,i have been testing of late with the recording.
In battlefield 3 there is a consol command to force the game to run at a user defined frame rate,i.e. I lock my fps to 100,the game will do best efforts to stay at those frames.
I minimize every window before bf starts, dont ask me how but this works.
Also no sound recorded,30fps unlocked at half size with bf3 res of 1680x1050.i get lowest 85 fps and highest 100.

The size isn't really the issue here (for me at least). What I'm going for is the best quality without hampering performance during gameplay. The end size can always be encoded down.

Last night I tried recording at 60 fps and wow that went much better, my frames locked at 60, which made the game much smoother. Thanks HC :P (10GB for a short TDM game though lol).

It looks as though I might have to record at full size as after editing and re-encoding to 720p the video quality looks terrible with half-size recording.
