I think posting an item is WAAAY cooler :D

A steam code is pretty meh... just use the cash to buy a steam game you actually want rather?

Only problem with the Steam giveaways thing is that you have to have spent a minimum, i think, of $100 on steam, and most of the console population wont have done that... Only reason i have a steam account is for Humble bundle stuff...

Nope he ment using that as the basis of the list of who can enter this - since we know the people on the list we know they are trust worthy and not scammers :D

Hehehe yes you may :) We wont keep any member out who has over 500posts as well as who has been active in the last month or two.
 
Only thing with our current postal service is 1. are they still going to exist by Dec and 2. do you really trust them to handle something like this

I would go the courier route tbh :p
 
Wyvz, I think we'll create a new thread once all the admin has been done on it.

So a few ideas from my side further:

  • The Steam group is only a base to work off. Once we have the list, we should populate it into a Google Doc spreadsheet that will show the names of all the people. Within the MyGaming Secret Santa thread people can request to be part of this en devour
  • We can invite certain members we feel should be part of this if they are not in the Steam Group at the moment. For anyone else that wants to join, they need to have more than 500 posts with high enough activity within the past two months to justify being called an active member
  • All members on this final list must indicate whether or not they are open for postal gifts receiving or giving, or would they prefer a Steam code to a game. Once you draw a name from Jan's Magical Random Number Generating Hat, you can see if that person is open to postal of just Steam games.
  • Budget should be placed at R200 max, postage included.

There should be something like a time frame added to the eligibility... I mean if you look at Blazzok hes been on here since 2011...

That can indeed be covered in the rules. We will know whom have been active over the past few months and they will get invites to the secret santa
