I've been running a Reign of Kings server for those who are interested in playing it.. so far we have been getting quiet some interest so though i would mention it here as well for those looking for something local.

Server IP: rok.no-ip.org
Server Name: |ZA| Reign Of Kings - South Africa

NOTE: If you can't connect by server IP, click on Search at the server browser and on the bottem left by name type either "ZA" or "South Africa" and click search, the server should then display and then you just click and connect.

Hope to see more players on the server soon.

About Reign of Kings:

In short: It's basicly Rust but Medieval Style

Released: 11 March 2015 (Still in Alpha, Early Access)

Very intrigued! How is the server concerning glitches? Will it be like WoW unofficial server? And how man players will it be able to handle? [MENTION=5453]Shirou[/MENTION]

Nope they are not like WoW unofficial servers, these servers are allowed to be hosted, and encouraged.

Not sure on the player amount, will let Shirou answer that, if Rust was anything to go by, probably 20 - 30 max for now.

Essentially, but not as moddable / open source. When you open the server browser you can search the official servers that are hosted by the devs, and the community servers which are hosted by... the community.

[MENTION=16362]Flex[/MENTION] Currently the game is still in Early Alpha access, but the game is playable but there is not too much to do yet.. hard to say unless you give the game a go yourself or watch some gameplay videos on youtube :)

I've seen servers that have slots over 100.. but the map is too small for having that amount of players online at any time, so not sure if they will later increase the map size.. but a reasonable player amount currently is about 20 - 40 players.

I've just started hosting the server on my ADSL line to see if there are any interest.. but i am currently getting very limited as my 4MB ADSL can only handle 6 players at a time.. the max was 9 players but the LAG was real and my line suffered.

So if there is someone out there with something more decent to host a South African ROK server on let me know.

I have watched this game on a few streams and I wont lie it looks shockingly bad. The fight animations and just moving around looks unfinished and poorly designed. Separate of that, is it actually a decent game?

It is still in the testing phase. but i have to agree, the movement looks very rigid

I just think its looks completely crap. It reminds of games made around 15 years ago...

Hopefully it changes rapidly during its development

I have been watching some streamers on this, yeah the animations are horrid and the fighting is not good at all but the community that you play with definitely makes it fun, I will give this server a go in the next few days and let you know

But in all seriousness with the plethora of other games out there, when they had a board meeting how did this pass quality control.

Some gamers aren't moved by flashy graphics or CGI?

/shrug look at Minecraft
 
Is this still going on. We 5 on Mweb servers and the rules are kinda ruining the experience since I have only seen 10 players on at a time.

Not sure.just got it this week, but I mean i find it better than rust personally. They got alot of stuff you can build. Anyways we playing on mweb. 41.86.116.127
