Report: Xbox One will be region-locked

Histrionics much? It sucks but it's hardly going to impact their sales to a large extent.

I don't think you quite understand the word histrionics. If you did, you would see that Edelweiss' post wasn't an example of it.

This isn't exactly shocking guys...lol

I think some people are making a huge deal out of this when in fact it isn't.

Who cares that its region locked? lol how is that gonna change your gaming experience?

It will, actually. It essentially means that if something isn't sold in your region, you won't be able to play it. This is an issue especially for people who buy eastern developed games, because a lot of eastern console games are developed and distributed exclusively in the east.

That's a fair point, I still think the way this is being blown out of proportion is just ridiculous though.
I also assume(Yes the mother of all fuck ups) that would be a fairly small user group?

So I have asked you, how does it affect you?
You own a Wii U which is also region locked? Yet that doesn't matter?

lol

Think of the bigger picture. These artificial limitations means that your suppliers whom you buy your games from are also more restricted in their choices as to where they can buy games from. If there is a sale in one country they can buy up a significant portion of that sale and resell it in a different country at a slight profit. If they are limited to only one or two suppliers, then they have much less room to play with.

"Similar to the movie and music industry, games must meet country-specific regulatory guidelines before they are cleared for sale," a Microsoft spokesperson said.

I hope they explain that in more detail because 'country-specific' really scares me.

Histrionics:

1
: theatrical performances
2
: deliberate display of emotion for effect

Yeah, no his post fit the description pretty well.

Yeah but it's something that's always been there with XBOX. Why NOW is it a dealbreaker?

I am still trying to see the "Drama queen" type dramatics in the supposed Histrionic post.

+ games are usually cheaper in certain regions eg, i bought most of my halo games from the us since its cheaper over there and region free.

It actually doesn't. Where is the excessive emotion in 'nail in the coffin?' It's actually rather devoid of emotion. That sounds to me like Edelweiss casually saying he won't be buying the console due to that restriction, Histrionics would be making a giant drama out of it. Which Edelweiss didn't. There was nothing remotely dramatic about his post.

By your application of the term 'histrionics,' someone dropping a spoon and saying "Oh no, I dropped my spoon" is guilty of histrionics.

tl;dr - please don't become an english teacher.

You didn't find it even slightly theatrical? Like XBOX is doomed because of region locking? Meh well as you like. My English is fine and I meant what I meant. Perhaps I just read his post differently to you though.
