returning purchased games

Wonder where the consumer protection act stands on all this?

ah stuff it, im not that ridiculous.

firstly ^I said this^

Well now that all these games are coming with these ridiculous online code passes....no, there's no way they could take back your used game.

No pass code for Street Fighter 4 but ya, I completely understand not accepting games back with pass codes.

You brought up the consumer protection act, which part of the act do you feel would apply here, speaking from a industry point of view, how would you see the act making any difference in the return of goods like the ones you mention ?
Surely not the Consumer's Right to Return Goods:

Seems my situation is not covered or its a bit of a grey area(theres alot of law speak to decipher). The game did not serve its purpose for me though it has served its purpose for the world it seems. Games are fun/entertainment, I find it to be neither and I admit that personal preference is an overly superficial reason to be running to the act with. Like I said before, Im not that ridiculous.

Yeah my point was that you had no argument according to the consumer protection act, therefore I was asking why you brought it up in the first place :)

First rule: Don't buy games at BT. The games are overpriced and their staff are rude, and if anything ever did go wrong with your purchase I assure you you'll have far less hassles dealing with either Zaps or even Kalahari.

Second rule: With the mass of reviews and gameplay footage available for every single game in existence these days, you can't really complain that you didn't know what a game was like. Retailers know this, and combined with the whole piracy problem they're even less likely to want to accept returns.

They often have really good specials though and that's when I buy from them. I also haven't had any terrible experiences with staff tbh.

lol I noticed you had a little blowout there on the blog space Brad, really dude, that was unnecessary, Dan gave you a simple response to a simple everyday situation
When you post something into cyberspace specifically on a forum, you allow people that do not necessarily share your viewpoint the opportunity to share their thoughts on the subject, not everyone sees things like you do and not everyone will always agree with you, no matter how "right" you may think you are.

If you want to see posts from people that do not give you the honest truth about what you yourself have posed as a quesiton, I suggest keeping it off a public forum

ALSO -- For Future Reference, posting without swearing for emphasis makes you look less like a child that throws his toys everytime he is in the wrong

Personally I've never had issues at BT games. And regarding them being overpriced, yeah maybe, on some titles. Got a few titles there recently on ps3 for R149 (funny enough Super Street Fighter IV) to R199 that were still selling for R399 and upwards from places like L&L. Even KoA:Reckoning was R530 compared to most other shops selling it for R599. Regarding the trade in issue of the OP, I would also not take it back unless there was a factory fault or something similiar wrong with the disc. Too many kiddies out there would take full advantage of places allowing this, and it's a business, not a charity.

So if I buy a book at exclus1ves read it, don't like it and return it they should give me my money back?

Or how about this, I go to the movies with my girlfriend, sit through the whole thing and hate every second of it. go home tell her I enjoyed it. go back next day and ask for my money back?

This is AWESOME! I'm never going to spend a cent again.

I'l just do the same at restaurants, hotels, plane tickets. when they give me any problems I'l just start screaming CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT BITCH!

Agreed, it's one of the silliest ideas I've ever heard. Good thing most people have more sense than to think it's a good idea. :/

Ya I get it now, cant be done, wont be done, will never work, the public at large are thieves, I am a pirate, Justin Bieber rocks, cats will rule the earth one day.

Lol! Go get a massage! No happy ending? I want my monies back! :-) I once managed to convince CNA to give me money back when a game wouldn't work on my comp! I met minimum requirements but it decided I didn't! :-)

If its a game without a online cd key it should be easy to return to places, but can see their view if someone copies a disc and uses online code and then returns it to get their money back.
