California Gov. Jerry Brown on Tuesday signed a bill outlawing so-called revenge porn and levying possible jail time for people who post naked photos of their exes after bitter breakups.

Senate Bill 255, which takes effect immediately, makes it a misdemeanor to post identifiable nude pictures of someone else online without permission with the intent to cause emotional distress or humiliation. The penalty is up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

This is really good, there are people who lose jobs and fail interviews as victims of revenge porn. Bring that bill here now also
 
Nice one! Just think of that young girl who took a topless photo of herself for some guy and then the guy sent it around causing her so much grief that she committed suicide.

Honestly don't know why people react so negativily towards people who've had nude shots taken.
 
Doesn't seem like much of a punishment imo. I mean, it's a cool bill for youngsters but anyone above legal age taking nude pics in this day and age has to know there is a very good chance of the pic/s landing up online somehow.

Good idea, probably a fair punishment for a misdemeanor, though sometimes one would feel it should be harsher, having a criminal record in this case seems like the actual punishment.
