RIFT : Planes of Telara

The Prophecy steampike EU Guardian guild is growing nicely with saffers :D
Got a very nice community going.
If anyone here is on SP and wants to do the Fae or Iron Tomb runs - whisper ingame, get some nice XP and loot doing these runs, and they are extremely fun to do!

I'd like some of that action :D. If not I'm looking at maybe buying it from Steam, their price is a fair bit better than the local retailers.

This game is some good fun, I love that it has so much to offer and that I'm not yet bored with it. I normally get bored of new games within 3 days ;)

Last night I was minding my own business exploring a zone and this NPC next the road starts talking to me and leads me off into the mountains with the promise of setting up a shop where I could buy some exclusive goodies. Obviously I trusted him since I've visited similar shops before (if you played Rift for a while you've probably seen these). Anyway, long story short, he turned into an ogre or similarly ghastly creature and strated attacking me. Managed to kill him and looted a nice set of blue pants off him :P
 
got my Rogue up to level 20 and suddenly got the urge to be a healer since I almost never see any healers in Public groups. So I am now a level 7 Cleric. Absolutely loving this game
 
Haven't decided what class I'm going to be yet.

In Aion, I found that healers get a lot of respect in general, and a lot of abuse in groups :D but there's always an invite available for groups because we're in short supply. Except ... halfway through the abuse bit rubbed me the wrong way, so my healer's now a PvP damage dealer. With a ton of survivability. I usually turn group requests down by saying I'm no good at healing anyone but myself :p

So ... my possible RIFT choices are still all up in the air. Healer type sounds doable ...
 
well I think thats valid for any class. when I played WoW as a Mage, at times people loved me and other times there was a "omg wtf n00b, l2dps" even though I was the lowest level in the instance etc....

nice part with my healer is that I am part of a really nice guild so most of the stuff I do, I do with them
 
Clerics are only healers when they want to be. My Cleric main tanks for groups, heals for groups and DPS's in groups.
 
my main aim is to be the healer for our raid group once we have enough players @ level cap. Will just respec between healing and levelling
 
Also note that Mages and Rogues have healing options (Chloromancer and Bard respectively). Both are good at the job, so maybe that is something else to consider.

I have dropped my Mage for now due to obvious lack in power compared to ALL the other classes, and rolled a Rogue since that was actually my first choice. Never played any rogue archetypes in other MMOs really, so it is a nice change. It is just nice that they can melee dps, range dps, heal AND tank if they want.

Apology not needed, I feel. We're talking about the game in anyways, and this can pretty much be considered a general discussion thread. I'd hate to see you organise raids and whatnot in here :p
 
Busy reading up on the rift site about all the classes. Must say, I don't know how I am going to choose! lol. Awesome that they have so many choices!
 
I'm waiting for my one friend to get his copy - trying to make sure he actually pre-orders at BT so he can pick it up tomorrow. We're pretty much intending to start together.

Are u going to join the Prophecy guild? I don't want to start alone, so I will probably be joining them. They can help me with my noobness at the game :p
 
I cant decide if I should get it or not, Im not bored of wow yet, might just wait till they have free trials before I spend the cash.

Well, at least u will have the R200 voucher to spend on it if u decide to get it eventually :) That was one of my main reasons for getting it. Only had to pay half price for it.
