Cool thanks ... I'm trying to find a ball park figure on ratios between guardians/defiants to see what's what.

Which servers are you lads jamming on at the moment? I don't see any details on the mouns/crafting types in the game other than a single mention of it being present in the pre-order section... :/
 
I actually want to give this a try so badly ... Aion's worn off on me at the moment.

But ... just can't afford to shell out on any new buys at the moment :(
 
Looks like I might get a shot at a review of this, so I am avoiding info so I can look at it objectively. I just hope Rift does something fresh, every MMORPG of late has felt quite stale. But yeah, I am also keen to hook-up at release, so closer to release someone make a post or something with details.

Ah cool...yeah I'm more prone to the Guardian side. I just hope they don't suck so badly at pvp as the Alliance in WoW does. :/ Would be cool to roll with one or two of you...

I'm feeling the same hey. Completely over WoW atm. I got 75k gold on my one char and absolutely no desire to pve or anything - all I'm eyeing now is to buy the Vial of the Sands dragon transformation mount or to just give it away on trade or something.

I know what you mean man - take your time and try not to label it as a wow-killer etc. Judge it on its own merit, should be a cool review hopefully! Personally I'm hoping it has individual character growth as LOTRO had - and to a degree Aion.


I'm quite keen for this and battling to find out where to DL the installer come release date...
 
pre-ordered through steam.
I'm keen to join up with anyone and everyone, an mmo gets boring fast if soloing.
 
through steam you get:
"Those who pre-order either the standard or Collector’s Edition of Rift will receive their choice of the following in-game pets: Cockatrice Chick, Deep One Spawnling or Hellhound Pup."

not sure if the others also do this, might be a standard pre-order thing.

man, I want that CE turtle mount but made a promise not to waste anymore cash on CE's. (guildwars excluded)
 
Thats why I usually 'pre-order' one day before the pre-order ends.

I've looked at the screen shots of this game but thats about it.
 
I pre-ordered from Direct2Drive, they had a special running where the collectors edition basically costs the same as the standard edition. So i figured i'd go for it while the special is going. Steam most likely won't run a special on the pre-order , D2D's specials work differently where they give 15%-30% discount on all games for like a few days. So keep your eyes peeled.

I don't normally pre-order things, but i'm a sucker for specials :).
 
Ouch, that is steep with no guarantee that you will even get it on launch day, to say nothing about headstart.
 
Friend bought me the digital CE from Trion, it is going to be nice to ride a mount as soon as I can get to a post box in game. I am really worried about the bandwidth usage of the game. Anyone able to check the BW usage in the open beta if you are playing it?
 
I was invited to the betas. But the patcher won't resume the game download (7.9gb or so, starts from beginning every time I press "recover") so not able to play it unless I want to dl 8gb straight on a 384kb line. Might buy it though.

Same for me.. I signed up and got invited. I just don't have the time to download on a 384 line. My beta ends on Monday.. Anybody feel like burning the client to DVD and mailing it to me?
