Rime Is Still A PS4 Exclusive, Not Coming On Xbox One

Reports emerged recently that stated that the beautiful indie game, Rime, which was originally announced for the PlayStation 4 back when the system itself was originally announced, and has since gone on radio silence, may be coming over to the Xbox One as well. This follows a report by Eurogamer Portugal that seemed to imply the same.

However, the developer of Rime, Tequila Games, has now taken to Twitter to actually contest these allegations, stating outright that there is no Xbox version of the game in the works, and that it still remains a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

It’s a shame, especially since the game looks so gorgeous- Xbox owners will be missing out on it. Nonetheless, for Sony, it remains a win, as one of the most promising games of the generation is now exclusive to their platform. I just hope we get to hear more about it soon, it has been a very long time since we last heard anything about the game.

Not exactly news, wayeee back in 2012 Microsoft actually rejected this game and then Sony picked it up. So i'm sure the team is not exactly pro-microsoft after that. Not sure what MS reasons were, but MS wasn't exactly Indy friendly back then, while Sony was.

Regardless, since Sony obviously picked this game up in 2013 already as an exclusive, why has there been any doubt that this will be a PS4 exclusive?

Sticking to the article, Tequila Works presented Echoes of Siren, from now on Rime (official name to this project unveiled at E3 2013) to Microsoft. Rime could have been a Xbox One exclusive instead a PlayStation 4 one, although Tequila Works showed Rime to MS, the company dismissed the project. Sony approved its budget and that was the start of a new exclusive for PS4.

Regardless, Microsoft did admit they missed an opportunity with this, just one of those things i guess.
