Road Rage

AlienTaker, you are one in a handful of bikers who rides like a human being. And trust me, I know guys in cars ride a heck of a lot worse. But the ratio of bad car drivers, to terrible riders.....well......bikers outnumber them. Might be 1 in 10 bikers who are thankful when I move for them.

But yeah, the roads are getting worse and worse. People are becoming terrible in Jozi. Fuses are far too short.

Remember folks: Think Bike....coz they sure as he'll don't do it for themselves.

Disclaimer: gross generalization on my part, I agree.

Addition: this is the level of stupid some bike riders have. I know there are many more motorist examples, but this one sums up the attitude some of these bikers have. Invincible? Guess not!!

Like i said i'm both a motorist and a biker and i have had both but some people just generalize all bikers as the same and no matter if your innocent on your bike or a hooligan they would still try and cause an issue for you and try and make you fall. and yes i am unfortunately a road rage offender more in my car than my bike. i have actually slapped a biker once. But i promise you guys we are not all hooligan bikers it's a 50/50 thing again :p

Well guys i'm sorry to say this and hate me for it but i have first hand exerience seeing as i'm a biker and a motorist, i have had a doos in a BMW come up so close to my wheel that i could actually put my foot on his bonnet, if i went left he came in behind me if i went right he did the same, it went on for about 12 km's when i decided to open up i was doing 220 and this clown still tried the same thing.
eh...so you did 220 on public roads? A mere 100 km/h over the speed limit. BMW driver in question might be a "doos", but perhaps he was not the only one.

Amazing that no-one has mentioned GTA yet, if this was America that would totally have taken the blame by now

Ok so i should slow down so he can run me over and then my wife and kids are fatherless, i'll keep that in mind next time a doos comes op so fast behind me that he has to slam on the brakes and leaves 20m marks behind him. think before you judge m8 it was an open road and i put no one else's life in danger but my own and you drive on the highway at 01:00 and a car does that to you are you gonna slow down to see if something happens. if you are you are one of 2 things extremely brave or an idiot. I will never do that speed between traffic or on a busy road i have more sense than that.

Then you should realize that at 220km/h your reaction time is non existent. While you may think it's an open road, no one knows what's coming up. Therefore placing your life in the exact position that you are trying to 'escape'.

I agree with you on this, I cannot see the difference. Just because no one sees me it's ok mentality?

Inn3r and fival you both have it so wrong but we'll talk again when someday your in that situation and your life is at risk. and have you actually tested yourself in that situation. i have i did 3 skids advanced driving courses and passed them all sam with my bike i went for advanced riding to prepare myself mentally to know what to do. and the mentality is that if no one sees me i can do it i'm my life is in danger because of a person that tries to intimidate me in a car i will do what i can to get away from him. or would it have been better for you if i stopped and pulled over and asked him what the issue is and i get shot or hijacked. i Guess you'll be more satisfied with that scenario won't you.

That happens to guys in cars also. Slow down to half the speed limit so he can re-act if you have to break. Then you can also take a pic using your mirror and phone.

I was on the freeway and had a guy do that to me, I braked slowly from 120 to 60 and he moved on.

That's the thing ike some don't do it they will keep on pestering you or even go around you and in front of you and some would slam the brakes and that's normally when a hijack situation occurs. So everybody deals with the situation different but if you have been hijacked to tend to be cautious (happened twice been shot once).

You do realize the only reason he was following you so closely & changing lanes to follow you was to provoke exactly the reaction you gave him? You open up to 220 and he "bravely" demonstrates that he can keep up by following you at 30cm.

Your initial post did not convey that, it seemed as if you will drive like that all the time. My apologies if I misread that.

Apology accepted i actually drive 98% of the time at a speed of 130km/h and it actually annoys some motorists on the highway, but i make way for anyone that wants to pass me at faster than 130km/h it is very seldom these days that you get people that actually drive 120hm/h on the highway.

And @Havoc it actually all started out by me driving 60 as i should in the Rustenburg cbd and he hooted at me and i waved for him to pass. But he didn't even attempt it he just stayed behind me. it went on like that till we hit the highway and that's when it escalated. So if you think i provoked him that's your opinion and i think your one of those people that generalizes and thinks all bikers are hooligans. Remember if i just decide to slow down he won't know it because i'm not braking to slow down i'm just letting go of the throttle so he will just run into me and that can be deadly to say the least.

lols. Meanwhile 2 pages earlier...

Not all bikers have that awareness i have ridden with a few with none what so ever, but they way your coming on about what i did for my own safety feels like your attacking me for what i did when i'm only trying to explain my situation and why i did what i did i don't justify what i did but at that point i thought of my previous 2 hijackings and that makes you react different.
