Roccat Kave @ Dion Wired on Special

Bargain Hunter
I'm looking for a new headset and stumbled across these: clicky.

They decent for the pricetag? Dion is offering free shipping which makes it rather tempting, but I don't wanna sit with crappy headphones. Online reviews seem fair for its price (i'm not expecting miracles) but I just wanted to ask if anyone owns or has experience with these?

For the record, my other one I'm looking at is the Steelseries Siberia V2, but prices seem to have gone up (and not being updated on online stores :/)

Thanks for any assistance :)

What are you prepared to pay for headset. I hate it when people ask for help but don't list the budget. Let me go and say this straight. Get stereo headphones. This true 5.1 is a load of bs. smaller drivers = weaker soundstage. If you want gaming audio get some stereo headphones and a dedicated sound card but if you really can't afford a sound card get the Steelseries Siberia v2. they awesome for what you get and comfortable. The Roccat will give you headaches etc etc. Why not look into corsair vengeance 1500

They good for the price and stereo with virtual surround. Don't trust anyone that will tell you true 5.1 is better than virtual surround. I've had some true surround before and since going sennheiser hd598 with Sound blaster z my soundstage is actually better. I know it's high end stuff but the basics still apply.

Uhh, the enquiry is more if the headset in the clicky (called clicky) is worth the price. Just for curiosity's sake I also mentioned i've been looking at the Sibera V2's, but they're out of my price range. Now, using deductive reasoning, even though it isn't necessary for my enquiry, we can deduce that my price range falls between R500 (for the Roccat Kave with free shipping) to roughly R750-R800 (since that is just below what the V2's are available at, since prices under that are all out of stock).

I hate it when people reply without knowing the original question.

Ok cool so now that we have a budget we can sort of help out. At that price range you can pretty much look at the following. Razer, steelseries, corsair, etc etc.

what about this one

But according to that roccat one I would avoid it. Go to Dion wired and ask if they have some on display or you can try them out to see if they comfortable. I know of someone that was running Roccat kaves but he told me that it's hurting he's neck so much he threw them away and bough corsair vengeance ones and they very comfortable. To me comfort comes first.

Nope I can tell you they are ok for the first hour, after that, they become so uncomfortable and heavy that you just want to take them off. I used my brother's pair for a few days whilst waiting for my razers.
Besides that the roccat's are made of a crappy cheap plastic, that breaks way to easily.

Thanks for the feedback :). Guess I'll not go with the Roccat's, since East London doesn't have a Dion Wired and it would be bought online.

Will look into those Corsair Vengeance some...

Maybe have a look into Tritton and Turtle Beach while you're at it

My sister lives in Hong Kong and is coming down in July, had her look at Turtle Beach Sevens to see if there's a decent price difference...unfortunately they're about $2000 there so no dice. Otherwise the z6a's possibly look good. I think Hi-fi Corp stocks Tritton...otherwise I've never heard of them.

Something about the Siberia V2 (not the green ones, dunno why) calls to me!

EDIT: woops, z6a not h6a, my bad

I had a pair of Kave's.

Awesome headset, normal price is around R800 can get them 2nd hand for about R400

R500 for a brand new set is a steal, awesome sound awesome quality, mine lasted like 3 years (from 2nd hand)

Thanks for this. Gna go get me a new pair :D

FML out of stock :(
