Rugby World Cup 2015

As long as Ruan Pienaar, Coenie Oosthuizen and Victor Matfield stays out of the starting lineup we'll be ok

I agree, especially on the Ruan Pienaar front. Rudy Paige really played his heart out last night, and he is many orders of magnitude quicker in delivery than Ruan

felt reaaly bad for the americans not being able to score any points against us but i think it was a good learning curve for them to play a bit of high intensity rugby.

i loved how all of them approached the springboks to swop jerseys. It just shows you how much these games mean to the lower ranking teams

As has been mentioned before, the Bokke in the second half played MUCH better than the first. THat is when they stopped being pulled down to the Eagles' level and played at their own level. It will get harder for our boys as it looks like we have the following matches lined up in order to lift the cup:

QF v Wales
SF v All Blacks
Finals v Australia

This can be a kicker of a World Cup to win!

What I learned:
- Non of the Old Boys were needed to win the game last night. Yes it was the Eagles, but still
- As much as I feel sorry for the Eagles, I respect their first half tremendously. I hope for their sake they can put up a better show against Japan.
- I will be cheering for the Brave Blossoms to beat USA and a for Samoa to upset the Scots. It sucks for Japan possibly not making the QF after winning 3 matches!

So SA has been locked in and is the first country to have effectively cemented its place in the knockout stages. I'm hoping the Aussies trump Wales so we can play Wales next, else it will be Australia. Pool C is also pretty much locked in, but outside chance of NZ losing (not likely) and Argentina winning massively could make things interesting there. Then the Frogs and the Irish have to duke it out to determine their fate. For Ireland's sake I hope they send the Frogs to go play NZ in the next round.

Can France do us all a favor and eliminate NZ in the next round? Can the scots do the same with the Aussies? Time will tell

And so the pool matches comes to an end. Other than the English bowing out in spectacular fashion, there's no real surprises as to who ended where on the different logs. It certainly wasn't easy for some teams, but in the end the 4 best nations ended at the top of their respective pools.

Australia is most definitely the in-form team of the competition at the moment, and they will easily sail past Scotland in the next round. Wales will be plucky and play a hard game, but I think the Boks will beat them.

New Zealand should really watch out for the French, as they will come with everything they have. To be honest, The AB's hasn't really impressed that much, and the French is so unpredictable, they can end up beating anyone, or lose to by a country mile.

As for Ireland. I've been backing them to reach the finals for a long time now. Their game last night proved my faith in them.

Roger that, my unscientific guess would be SA by 5 over Wales; France by 2 over NZ with NZ scoring a single try and France kicking NZ stukkend. Ireland to breeze past the Argies by more than 14. Australia by 10 over Scotland.

I honestly believe that this will likely be a repeat of the 2011 final in terms of the overall game. The key to winning the All Blacks seem to lie in keeping possession and forcing them to tackle and scavenge for the ball. Else they will drive you into your half and run you ragged.

Yeah i'm so out of the bru competitions cos i missed a lot of pics with the new job and all and i'm just going got do what i can and compete a bit still i'll prolly have more focus next year with the bru's and stuff. Wales think they are going to hammer us and i say if we keep the right combos we are going to hurt them.

Fourie + Pollard, Damien + Kriel and the loose trio of Schalla, Duane and Louw, And Eben + Loodt
