They should feel like the dog's arse after that display. You can take the worst players in the Currie Cup and probably cobble together a better display than that.

Dearest Japan

I've been South Africa's biggest supporter this week. I said South Africa will win by more than 40 points. I disagreed when people said that South Africa won't do well.

I was wrong.

You turned down the points to go for the draw. That's amazing. I applaud you and I admire you.

As for the Springboks. Well I'm gutted. I think it's safe to say that we are not a world power anymore and we are definately not a World Cup winning side. It breaks my heart.

We all disagreed with Heyneke Meyer's choices but I stood by him. I thought he had a plan. I was wrong. I hope he quits. We all know there are better players who should have been there and we need a coach who can see that too.

I'm sad and disappointed.

Well played Japan. I will be supporting you all the way.
 
We where beaten by japan people this is a new low point and they fully deserved to win.I will always support the boks but the management need to go.Fucking sad day.They extend the asshole's contract for another 4 years.We played dinosaur rugby today no imagination.

You are not alone the whole country is in shock tonight.I feel really bad for those south Africans that paid immense money to go watch that drivel.If we play like that again we are out of the world cup.

We were beaten by HM and Eddie Jones, I'm afraid. Piss poor coaching decision, IMO, it's almost like he wanted the boks to be confused. Lambie's playing well? Let's take him off. Kirchner's playing his typical predictable patterns? We'll leave him on.

Japan played a hell of a game, and I am sincerely impressed by them, and incredibly happy for the team to have scored their 2nd ever victory in a RWC. Well done, Japan, and Eddie Jones. I predicted that they would be a force to be reckoned with, but I did not see them being this good.

Japan showed true courage and determination and skill.
 
Trying to think when last I've seen such passion. Big ups to Japan, they deserved it. I was laughing in shock at the end of this game, but think I may just have found my 2nd team to support, and they way they played today they might just go further than anyone would have thought. Now even USA and Scotland will think we are fair game.

Still hope the boks will do an amazing turn around though. Just a reminder, France lost to Tonga in the previous WC and ended up loosing by one point to NZA in the finals. Wishful thinking, but hey, I'm South African first.

Exactly what I was thinking. We thrashed England in 2007 and they still made the final. Anything can happen in a World Cup. Like we just saw :D.
 
Nemises you are right hopefully the team can respond positevly and we improve but it would have to be by 200 percent.Like going from vanilla Destiny to the Taken king destiny.

But did you see the Japanese fans. They were in tears during sections of play. The South African fans just look glum.
 
I don't really have words to express my disbelieve tonight. I am, however, glad to see I'm not the only one here that admired the Japanese tenacity. I felt guilty at one stage when I found myself actually hoping for an upset. I got what I wished for and it tastes pretty sour right now.

So what happens now? Firstly, the Boks no longer have an option but to win every game and hope that Scotland and Samoa beat Japan if they wish to finis top of the logs in their group. If Japan can build on this result we may very easily see Japan top the group and a three way fight between SA, Scotland and the Islanders for the second quarter final spot.

One thing I can say without any doubt is that neither Scotland nor Samoa will be viewing their game against Japan in the same light as they did a few hours ago.

And any doubts about the 2019 RWC hosts are also laid to bed, I think.
