Source. It's IGN, so take it with a grain of salt. The article says that the game is finished, but Kojima wants to wait and promote the game more.

You're seriously telling me that they're going to miss out releasing the game on the V/V/201V? Come on... :(

Anyway, I don't think this game needs more promotion. It's launching on V platforms (See what I did there :p) and will sell like hotcakes regardless. I need this now!
 
Link doesn't work for me. Gives some Spanish error [emoji14]. But yeah, seems unlikely the game is finished as they would've announced a release date by now had they been nearing the end of development. They're not just going to sit around until September while marketing does their job are they? I'm not even sure I expect it this year to be honest, it's one of those games you've been waiting for so long you kinda just stop waiting. I'll get it when it releases but not counting the days.

It's definitely coming out this year. It looks finished anyway.

To be honest I haven't played a Metal Gear Solid game since the PS1 but I am really excited for this, looking really awesome.
