Rust: Official Thread

So I decided to buy this game, busy downloading it now so I'll be seeing everyone in game who still plays this :)
 
Hey Guys,

This forum is still new, and we are looking for moderators for the forum(Post more content/ or even get clan members in there to just talk about your next base raid!)

I would like the South African Community to Start posting on this forum so we can start our own SA Rust Forum where it will only be for SA players and servers.

We would like to invite everyone to join and lets get started!

So I'm hearing from a lot of the community that this game will be making a come back shortly, the newer updates have made the game so much better.

I am looking at buying this and wondering if anyone else around here plays it or will be starting it up again?

Started playing this weekend. However I would only start playing in 6 months time.there is content to keep you busy, but some point you just go back to the old way of look for sh#t with your neighbour's as there just isn't enough stuff to do as usual.

Well I'm wanting to get a survival/crafting game that I can play with mates and this seemed like the better choice. I don't want another zombie game (i.e. DayZ or H1Z1).

These kinda games I find pointless to play on your ownsome.

Well then it will be your type. Only wildlife is a threat as for AI. But every other player is a threat. Def not a dayz or H1 replica. Yeah we are a group of 4 and we harassed our neighbor doing brute force on his door lock pin. Ended up being friends with him and he gave us some resources.
 
I have played a bit of the new one and it is pretty cool, they are updating it constantly also. It is just a bit harder now with the procedurally generated worlds, I used to know the old map like the back of my hand.

I hear it can take about 12 hours to walk from corner to corner, in real time. Quite a huge map!
 
my laptop used to be able to run the old one at like 30 fps.. now i get around 15.. making it unplayable :( so no Rust for me until i get a real PC
 
I have it but haven't had anyone to put much time in it with me. I don't mind grinding and I prefer their newer look to their legacy build. Though I think most of the mods are still on their legacy build?

I don't know Im not a real serious fan of Rust.
Can be fun once in a while game. Makes me angry when you have spent 6 hours farming by yourself. Wake up next morning, your place was robbed. Your neighbour comes over and tells you. "yeah, about 11 people were here last night raiding your stuff".

Then your annoyed by it, you check forums complain its annoying. then the dota type comments come out. Make friends with people so you can move in with them.


It's just crap. If its a group game, what stops a group of 30 people going up against a group of 10, 5 or 2? there is no point.

Its best that someone who loves the game tell you how fun it is.

But it's always good getting a non-biased opinion as well. :)
 
For me the best part was playing in a group but it is still fun to go lone wolf, the devs' are adding content and fixing stuff constantly, and their direction for the game is going to be awesome.

Still though, Ark: Survival Evolved is looking to be Rust with Dinosaurs at the moment, which is awesome.

Haahahaha Actually sounds like lots of fun to me! I would probably be that 1 guy living in the forest on my own looting everyone's big homes =D
