S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat

I have never come across any really bad bugs at all. Maybe the odd one but not game breaking.

Oh they definitely put more polish into this one but they nerfed it. Dude Im playing on Master Difficulty and other than the guns doing more damage its still the same, i have 128 000RU. And im not even doing a whole lot of missions. This is just from fixing and selling shit i find in the zone and artifacts. Last night for the first time the ammo supply i carry with me ( i keep an extra 700 rounds in my locker in Jupiter) went under the 300 mark. Mosters are also alot more common, I killed a Chrimera attacking 2 STALKERS, it messed with me and my Striker, it lost. Then i attacked a Controller who was chasing a bandit, then i poped the bandit for good measure. Bandits still aren't hostile so i run around the zone shooting dogs, blood suckers and the odd snork. Will be doing the Road to Pripyat tonight so lets hope there is more action than in Jupiter.

Yeah but thats how a STALKER game is suppose to be. You have to survive the Zone, if it was this easy on the outskirts fine but Call of Pripyat is taking place in the center of the Zone. It should be a constant battle to survive. Not a walk in the park.
 
I am a bit peeved that I never really died in it. Clearsky was a constant fight. Join a faction and fight clan battles. But I like the features in call of pipyat. Wish they had those features and the updated engine in clearsky.

Pripyat has its cool features and polish but with out a constant fight to survive it doesn't have much to distinguish it from other shooters. Also why do i need a guide to take me between area's what happened to finding your own way from one zone to another. They should just have made the factions stay pissed at you. Not forget that you've killed 50 of they friends and looted them dry.
 
I think allot of people complained about walking bout to get to places and that it was too hard for them.

Clear Sky had guides as well but you could choose to use them. The only way to get into Jupiter is to make use of pilot. WTF? In SOC and CS you walked from the Cordon to the place where the maps joined and then transfered to the new area. Also Call of Pripyat's map is WAY WAY smalled than either one of the first 2.
 
But with the guides in clearsky some of them could only take you to certain places.
 
AFTER HAIR PULLING day I found this and I was able to get Stalker running so for anybody out there that is struggling these are possible fixes.

Problem #1: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat (CoP) won’t launch / Crash / Freeze while launching

Ok… this is interesting. Now…. it seems that it is FRAPS that is causing CoP not to start. If I shut down FRAPS, I can load the game. If FRAPS is running, it does not start. In my previous installs, I was NOT running FRAPS…. so this seems unrelated… yet related. This is nuts overall… but at least it seems to be running now. In addition, I tabbed out, started FRAPS, and FRAPS works with the game running so it only seems to be a startup issue.

Possible Solution #2: (By Refan from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. forums)

This worked for me.

1 goo too www.securom.com

2 go too Support

3 press the link on the left side reading = How do I remove SecuROMâ„¢ from my machine? =

4 download the Removal tool

5 remove securom

6 = Profit!

this worked for me, Best of Luck.

before you launch the game, eject the dvd. When prompted for it, insert and it runs!

had this same issue, click on the icon the DVD drive would spin up and even show the DVD pointer icon, but the game wouldn’t start.

Found that the game does not like XFire for some reason. Not sure if it has to do with STALKER’s copy protection scheme or what. If I shut down XFire, it starts every time.

Problem #2: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat encounters error message: Cannot find Fsgame.ltx

Possible Solution: #1 (By RoboMook from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. forums)

Try launching from the start-menu shortcut, might help.

Possible Solution #2: (By Einhanderkiller from the Gamespot forums)

Delete your user.ltx in
C:\Users\Public\Documents\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat

This will fix your problem.

Problem #3: Enemies and various NPCs don’t respawn when playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat

Possible Solution #1:

Download a no-cd crack file to bypass the DRM issue.

Problem #4: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat won’t launch after clicking the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. icon / .exe file

Possible Solution #1: (By RoboMook from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. forums)

There should be a shortcut under ‘games’ in the start menu. If it’s not there you’ll just have to create a new one by right-clicking on the .exe and choosing ‘pin to start menu’.
