SA forums victim of vBulletin hacking

Hackers have cracked into popular South African forums using a vBulletin exploit

So I take it that if MyBB was secured so quickly, the MyG forum will stay hacker free as well. Well done to the admins then on catching it so quickly

So why did the admins not remove the install directories? Logging into admin would have shown this as an issue?

I actually wanted to PM you about this,a few days ago BlenderArtists.org also got hacked with a redirect hack.

I figured they only targeted BlenderArtists.org but it seems this is a hack that has gone viral so most likely anyone can use it that has purchased /acquired it

The NAG.co.za forum was also victim of a hack attack with a political motive. The forum website now redirects to a site with a pro-Assad Syrian government message.

Er, I think the Russians are just being pragmatic about it.
