SA PC game prices: where are the cheapest?

What I've found is with latest releases, Kalahari tends to be somewhat cheaper than Takealot. Pity though, because I really prefer ordering from Takealot... Their delivery is instant.
Can't really comment on the other stores as I mostly use the two mentioned above for physical gaming purchases.

Delivery is a very important factor for me and I have found Takealot to be very reliable as well. Even here in the Freestate, halfway between Bloem and Jo'burg, you can get next day delivery from Takealot if you order before 12 o'clock. For Kalahari (and most other online shops) it takes 2 to 3 working days for in stock items. I realise that this comes down to the couriers and not the shop, but it does influence my online shopping decisions, especially when some shops charge you a minimum of R90 delivery regardless of how much you spend.

Look and listen is a rip off :o

Takealot does have better service, I just wish they had kalaharis pricing

If I want a game on release I just buy it from BT games, I dont even care about the price online. Otherwise I just shop around and see what is cheapest. NEver had a problem with any of them actually.

Kalahari's service is pathetic, just got a mail that my Batman has been delayed and will only ship on the 30th...

they also delayed my previous purchases, they are a lot worse than takealot.co.za, just wish takealot was a bit cheaper here and there

Same here, it's often just easier to pick it up in store than try and get them to deliver to me on campus.

I'm also not impressed with Kalahari's service. Their email responses are fairly quick, but they really don't read your email. (That's true for most places though)

I can't completely agree with the article. Sure it is fare comparing similar games, but if you want a more accurate comparison it's better to do it based on new releases and pre-order prices. That way it is fair game. On older games its a bit more difficult to compare simply because some retailers may be reducing their prices just to get rid of stock and that same price wont indicate the pricing of their other games.
Thus I believe if you want a more accurate picture then I suggest you do the comparison on new releases only.

As for quality of service, I've done some of my own research before.
I pre-ordered games from Takealot, BT and kalahari.
Takealot always delivered my games on time. There was one occasion where a book that I ordered got waterdamaged when it reached their warehouse, but the manager called me and informed me the order will be late because they were driving around town to bookshops trying to find a copy to replace that one.
BT completely lost my record of pre-orders twice and different branches.
Kalahari I found doesn't grasp the idea of a pre-order. If I pre-order a game that kinda means I want the game on day one and not day 4(which happens to be a monday meaning I can only play the game on day 8). But they are cheaper.
