So anyone playing this game or has played this game and you would like to give some tips, you're welcome to post here.

I have two high level toons and finished the campaign once already. I'll help where I can as well :).

I started playing this evening and am trying to figure out just how far I can push the detail sliders on my rig.

Core 2 Duo E8400
4Gb DDR2 800
AMD Radeon HD 4870

i don't understand why everyone is experiencing problems patching Sacred 2. I simply downloaded the patches and installed them, no problems whatsoever.

Haha, yes I am here. You know that damn virus I thought I got rid of the other day? Well, turns out I didn't and I spent the whole day trying to get my PC clean and my internet up and running. It seems I'm clean again, for now. hope it lasts longer this time.

I would buy it if it wasn' sucha biatch to patch :p

It isn't as bad as it is made out to be.

Buy a Gb or two of local bandwidth from Axxess, go here where you will find the 1Gb retail to 2.40 international update Make sure that your download manager catches the download then stop it and switch to local before continuing the download.

Install Sacred 2 then install the patch.

Let's try to stay on topic, shall we? ;-)

You could pretty much max the hell out of it on that system. I played on max with a lesser PC. It does have a memory leak that crops up after about an hour, but alt+tabbing sorts it right out. I only have 2 gigs of RAM though.

What version of the game did you have when you finished the campaign? I had 2.10, but I couldn't finish the campaign as I encountered a game-breaking glitch at the final bosses - those doors around the circular room locked me out and I couldn't get back in :( haven't tried again after updating to 2.40

I finished on 2.34, which is the latest patch that I have atm.

Is the game really as good as they say? besides the issues with patching...

I suppose that would depend on how discerning you are. If you enjoy action RPGs then you may enjoy it. If however, you believe that any game which does not adhere closely to the latest AD&D rules and entails the management of more stats than Fallout is an Abomination unto the 12 sided die, then you will probably consign the game's two discs unto the Flames of Tash'myrkul.

If you like hack and slash RPG's then you'll love this game. It's a completely open game world, much like an MMO. Lots of exploring to do, secrets to find and nasty bosses to make life miserable :). The best part is playing in co-op mode.

Hack n Slash is find aslong as the quests are interesting though...

They mostly fall into typical stereotypes, but a lot of them can be quite entertaining. There are just so many sides that eventually it will feel like de ja vu. One of the big draws is finding rare and set items.
