Sacred 2 Discussion

I actually got bored of Titan Quest. I played it after Sacred 2 and my brother agrees with me that TQ lacked too much variety vs Sacred 2.

Playing this game and absolutely loving it so far - and this is coming from an utter gaming cynic.

Only reason I initially had issues with patching was due to the badly listed info on which patch to download. The ones linked from the game installer do not work. Otherwise 2.40 went smoothly once I got the correct file. I am putting off upgrading to I think it is 2.43, since I read there are some weird issues with it.

Otherwise I am addicted to this at the moment. Restarted about 10 times already deciding on a class and then a build. Right now I am set on a Dual Wielding Staff Dryad which is pretty damn fun. Then I also have a Temple Guardian with heavy focus on ranged attacks.

Also most of the time just skip Bronze difficulty outright and go to Silver. Bronze is far too easy.

Bronze is indeed a waste of time, it's best to start out on silver. I was farming in gold mode with my lv.68 Shadow Warrior and I quite enjoyed the challenge of some of the bosses in that difficulty. I really want to get moving to platinum so my drops can be a little better :).

I found that I cannot change more than one graphical detail setting without causing Sacred 2 to freeze.

Have any of you had this problem?

I am also LOVING the game only problem is I CANNOT for the life of me patch from 2.31 to 2.34 and from there to 2.40 whenever I try and patch from 2.31 to 2.34 its says some files have been changed? I have uninstalled and reinstalled 10 times... I patched all the way from 2.0.10 upwards what am I doing wrong?

It is an amazing game... Played for like 30 hours and didnt even do 20% of the side quests or even explore 20 % of the world map :O

so it's on the level of oBLIVION only better looking

Um...well, the resolution of the textures could have been higher in the PC version.

I think I need to remind myself and others though that ultimately it is not how it looks but how it plays.

Didn't like oblivion found the story severely lacking, finished the game. Don't like bethesda games in truth. Their games always lack when it comes to story and that's for me one of the most important parts of an rpg. Comparing their writing in fallout 3 and fo 1 and fo2 and you will know what I mean.

I haven't had that problem.

I think the texture detail is quite high enough. I got the CE version and it came with an extra high resolution texture DVD. I haven't bothered to install it because the game looks good enough to me and it requires an extra 10GB.

I agree that story is a big part of RPG's, but it certainly doesn't make them. Sometimes all you need is a big world with lots of stuff to kill with the awesome twin swords you picked up :).

Mindless slaughter is only entertaining for so long. A good game sucks
the player into it and makes them feel as though they are part of the game world. You DARE to attack a Seraph, miscreant!

Where did you pick up the twin blades?
/I had my character in Spellforce equipped with twin fire and ice swords.

I didn't pick up twin blades per say, but a pair of the same swords looks cool dual wielded :).

Here are two of my main characters a.k.a. (Toons).

For me there is something cathartic in action RPG's or grinding in general.

I just love leveling up and gaining new skills and items. Not all games need a great story, but a great environment is a certain must for an action RPG.

Sometimes I crave an in depth story, while other times all I want is to mindlessly grind on something.
