Sacred 2 Discussion

This game seems so awesome, my fave part about RPGs is definitely killing epic bosses for l33t wep and armor sets, and seems like there's alot of that here. Only thing I don't like is the classes don't look very flexible. That's what I loved about Titan Quest and WoW, they have a extremely flexible system for class builds like WoW with 9 distinct classes but they each have 3 uber customizable talent trees and the gear can also transform your class into another subclass like 'haste hunters' and the infamous 'lightning crit pvp shaman'. Titan Quests' is the best with you choosing a main class from 8 basic class themes and then a secondary one, so you can have a 'nature + warrior, paladin of the earth' or a 'bow + dagger assassin combo' or a 'fire + ice elementalist mage'. Sacred's classes seem specifically orientated.

I'm buying it on xbox though, so does anyone know if the 360 version sucks in comparison to pc one because playing a Diablo style hack 'n slash sounds like quite the challenge.

One last thing, what is the best class in Sacred that combines dual wielding fury warrior with a druidic nature theme? That's my fave combo :P

Rather go for PC, the console versions are buggy as hell and look play like poop.

As far as Combat Art variety, well, to be honest this game in that sense is pretty 2 dimensional. The Skills can make up for it somewhat with quite a few options and synergies, but I feel it is lacking due to being designed for consoles. But don't get me wrong, this game is VERY fun, and can get real challenging on the harder difficulties.

Titan Quest really was great I must agree, too bad they closed down.

In terms of a build, hmm... Well there are many choices in this game, I found that my Dryad build actually fits that criteria to some degree.

It dual wields staffs for crazy melee DPS combined with a high INT and Astute Mind Combat Art buff. Staffs damage are affected by INT so it can get crazy. It also uses heals, and some miscellaneous nature themed spells. Many classes can dual wield well, just try out a couple to see what you like.

Check on the Sacred 2 official forum for the Dryad build if that interests you. It is under the Dryad section. Otherwise mess around; it took me ages to work out what I like, and what will work well.

Just got my unique mount for Shadow Warrior :D
I have major issues putting sets of armour together, kinda annoys me about the game. Except for the plain vanilla "shadow warrior" armour which there is plentiful of

I have found sets are always hard to complete in these games. Usually takes lots of killing bosses, and high luck / item finding gear to get them all. Also most of the time select rare type items are muuuuuuch better, and can be customized to needs (even considering set bonuses).

Yeah, it also effects some item find items from what I know. Also you see sparkles in funny places that when you move over them an item appears.

I found so far the most useful skill is Bargaining. The crazy rings /amulets and general gear you can get at merchants - + to all skill, + to all combat arts. Put those into some armor or gear that already has + to those, and you have crazy boosted skills / arts. I think on my TG atm I have like + 20 to combat arts and about the same for skills. Funny thing is I can easily go higher if I bothered to.

Unfortuntely I don't get bargaining, so trying to boost perception with amulets/rings. But my hammer gives me a +91% selling bonus which is pretty damn useful :D

I have 3 pieces of an armour set starting with 'Champion'. Damned if I could find anything further. But I'll just have to graft along and hopefully find something awesome :D

I agree with the recommendation for the Dryad, it's exactly what you are looking for. On the subject of Titan Quest. I played it after I had played Sacred 2 and found it to be painfully boring after about 15 hours. It was very bland and monotonous compared to Sacred 2.

Agreed with Isengard on the matter of Titan Quest. After some time away from gaming, I played some one-handed Sacred 2 last night.I was thinking that as I am going to have up to an additional 10Gb courtesy of WebAfrica this month, that I should try some Sacred 2 multiplayer too.

So I started playing this again a week or two ago and the strangest thing has happened to one of my characters. I loaded up a character that I haven't played with in a long time and to my surprise I was back at the beginning of the game, but with my character at level 31! I still have all my weapons, armour, combat arts, skills, attributes, etc. but all my progress story wise is gone and my quest log is pretty much empty. When I open the map I can still see everywhere that I have been in Ancaria with my character, but none of the teleporters are active anymore. I have no idea how or why this happened and I can't decide if it's a good or bad thing.

It's probably possible, I did install the Ice & Blood expansion before playing with this character again. I'm actually starting to think of this as a good thing in a way, I get to start the game with a level 31 character that alrerady has descent weapons and armour and I've already found some rare items. At least the game scaled all the enemies to my level, it would have sucked if all the enemies in the starting area where level 1 or 2.
