samsung b2330h any good

yes the 2333 has a flower power design at the back of it ...

downfall of the b2330h is that it doesnt have speakers ... so how useful will hdmi being seeing that it transfers video and audio ...

If I'm not mistaken, HDMI carries HDCP signals by default, as you can't have anything but a digital signal sent to it; DVI on the other hand, when using DVI-A or DVI-I, can still accept an analogue signal, which can't be encrypted for the sake of HDCP content protection. I could be wrong on this, though.

There are some other extra features that the monitor has over the 2333SW, but on the whole they're not necessarily anything to get excited about in comparison.

As for tearing, most 'tearing' is a result of refresh rate desync and/or cable bandwidth issues as opposed to response time. Response time is where there is a delay between the signal reaching the monitor and it being sent to the LCD panel. Beyond this, the gray-to-gray contrast changing speed is your second most important factor, with like-coloured images often having little to no issue 'rendering' smoothly without 'ghosting' at 8ms, and in some cases even 16ms panels.

On the whole, it's extremely unlikely that Samsung would begin releasing an inferior product when replacing a range, which from what I can tell, is what they're doing with the B2330H over the 2333SW, given the similarities in specification and design, as well as the launch price of the former.

All that said, the B2330H seems to just be a technical upgrade of the 2333SW monitors, and may actually use the same LCD panel, and should provide exactly the same, if not a better picture at the end of the day.

I just purchased the B2330H from Best Buy and got a screaming deal on it. Not only did they give us the clearance price the 2333SW was on clearance for, we also had rewards dollars, so we were able to purchase this monitor for $150 and change. We run the monitor on an older computer with version of media center that is not set up for hd quality and the pic quality is unbelievable nonetheless. We had to get a new monitor because our older Samsung 203B had the white screen of death, however, we definitely got our $ worth out of it and wanted another Samsung because of the quality and price range.

The B2330H, also known as 'Peach', has a pattern on the back sort-of meant to represent the bark of a Peach tree. If you look on Youtube for the 'B2330H design story' video (1min30s), that'll give you a good 360-degree look at computer generated version of the monitor.

Anyway, to those that have bought it, if you could, would you mind finding someone with a 2333SW and comparing them side by side using the same source please? For this, simply hook them up to a computer with 2x DVI outputs and set up the computer to clone the display. Would like to know which has the better black levels, viewing angles, gray to gray change fluidity and general colour reproduction (saturation isn't as important to me as natural colour tones).

I finally have this monitor (B2330H). Contrast is simply excellent along with colour and clarity. The monitor has an audio out jack for speakers or headphones for if you use HDMI. If anyone has any questions I'll gladly respond to them. I'm yet to find something I don't like, or a problem for that matter, about this monitor. I'm no expert though, however I can't find anything wrong with it :) I'd gladly pay 2.5k for it, but got it for 1.7k - I'm happy.
