should I rather save the money and maybe buy something else. I feel that my pc might be strong enough for a year or 2+. as long a s I can play games on medium-low at 1920x1080 I'm happy.

I just don't know if it's worth it getting a 27" monitor that can only do 1920x1080. It's such a low resolution for such a big monitor. If I were you I'd save the money, or try and get a Samsung T260. It's 1.5 inches smaller, but at least it has a higher resolution, and your PC will be able to handle that easily.

I'm having such a hard time figuring out why Samsung are releasing monitors that simply don't go higher than 1920x1080...especially for PC use.

only problem is that I don't like the looks of the T260. but do you guys think it's a worthy upgrade from a 23"

I don't think you're going to be happy with it. Like I said, the physical SIZE is nice for sure, but the resolution is too small to use for a PC monitor. You're going to have a massive screen on your desk that offers NO extra virtual space to work with. Honestly, if you're going to buy a bigger monitor, you have to make sure that the resolution it has supports it.

Have you ever connected a 32" LCD television to your PC? It's massive, but due to the low resolution your icons are massive as well and that looks uuuuug....lyyyyyyy.

Well i had the T260 and it is a awesome screen..then went to 3 x 22" LCD for Eyefinity..sold that for 23.6" Samsung (2494HS)..again awesome screen but then saw my buddies Samsung 27" and all i can say I want one. 1920x1080 is the "standard" norm for gaming and so is HD. End of the day it is personal choice.

I was looking at the same option but decided against i dont need a 27" monitor. i am waiting for those 3d 24 inch Lcds to come in. As shooter has stated it does come down to personal choice, you trying to find out if it a good monitor. I am guessing it is cause it Samsung and thier products are pretty rock solid at the moment. But neo makes a good point a 27" stuck and 1920x1080 not a good think, had it had a higher resolution i have told you go for it. I need a new monitor. Damn this 19" to hell.

After getting a p2770H for 3 grand ... I'm not complaining.

Brilliant monitor, crisp colours and one hell of an upgrade from my old 19" LG 16:10.
The max res is a little low for the size, but my pc is just a gaming rig so it suits me just fine.
