The SA Revenue Service (Sars) has filed papers in the High Court in Pretoria to have expelled African National Congress Youth League president Julius Malema sequestrated, it was reported on Thursday.

The City Press reported on its website that, according to court papers, Malema owes Sars R16 million and is "factually insolvent and in no position to make payment of his indebtedness to Sars".

Be nice if he could end up in prison for tax evasion too. SARS needs to set an example for the other dodgy politicians and tenderpreneurs. Was surprised to see that his SARS issues started as far back as 2009!
