Hi

I just got a Xbox 360 4GB. I plugged in a spare seagate 250GB HDD into it, can feel it working but it down not show in XBox. Why is that? My 8GB usb flash drive works fine. I tried all (well about 5 different sites info) I could find on Google, but no luck. Formatted it into FAT32, partitioned it, Made partition primary, NTFS, resized but no luck. Could it be that XBox is 'detecting' a nonXbox drive?

Thanks

Are you plugging it in as an external drive or are you replacing the internal drive? If internal, yea they have unique ID's and you cant just randomly swap out drives and expect it to work (theres alot of hassle in replacing the dvd-rom as well).

EDIT: Have a look here for how to convert your drive into something the xbox recognizes

Hi Thanks, wow never expected to a reply so quick.

Yes, I am placing it internally. It only comes with 4GB flash built-in storage. So if I need to download games with Gold, I'm a bit jammed.

Thanks for the link.
