I like the environment stuff, especially the grass, way better than standard but I don't get the whole appeal of putting anime girls into your game. Feels like you are playing with barbies.

lolol didn't even notice the anime girls. The environment is awesome! I feel like playing Skyrim now...

I'm currently playing Skyrim modded according to S.T.E.P with a few changes here and there and it looks pretty good. I think the ENB makes the most difference though, that and Climates of Tamriel.

I see that the lush grass, while pretty, demolishes the framerate (to 8 FPS)

You might also want to check out the Skyrim Total Enhancement Project (STEP) as well at http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11. It is basically a PDF listing mods to make Skyrim pretty. Probably not far off from the one posted in this article.

So these are only aesthetic mods? Would love a compilation of gameplay enhancements. I recently started playing Skyrim again and I want to see if I can't spruce up the gameplay a bit.

I have a few mods i can recommend if you want,they focus around combat and NPC behavior to toughen up enemies.

It's not so easy to wipe out a bandit camp when the toughest one comes to head on and get healed by a mage constantly.

That would be awesome. We should actually start a new 'mandatory Skyrim mods' thread. I know we had one floating around a while back, but that started shortly after Steam released and a lot would have changed in the modding scene since then.

I don't have a full list of all my mods but the only NPC improving ones were SkyRe-Combat,SkyTest-Realistic animals and TRO basic needs.There was also a NPC teamwork mod but i forgot the name.

The rest i have installed are all visual mods.
