Sex and nudity ingame?

What type of sex and or nudity in game are you ok with?

I'm simply chilled with sex in general on a game, but I think a user should be given a choice prior to starting a game with what they want, almost like a parental control setting except allowing a person to choose their genre of sexual relations. Especially since I had an argument roughly about a year ago with the gay members on here regarding a homosexual encounters on Mass Effect.

Personally I think it should be given as an option before hand, that way making it a win win situation for everyone. :)

I have nothing against gays, I'm all for freedom of choice, but personally, I don't want two see two men going at it in a game. So If we have the opportunity disable or avoid same sex encounters then great!

As to straight and the poll, I don't mind sex and nudity in a game as long as it makes sense. The Witcher 2 is a perfect example of this.

I made this thread to explore more of the thing you were starting to talk about. I know I tend to get all ultra and just reply from a negative point of view instead of an open discussion and for that I do apologize, I really don't have anything against you.

I agree, but what if it is part of the story being told. I'm not just talking about some nookie here and there. I prefer it being there over the classic fade in and out. Sure as Achtung says, but it can still be taste fully done without getting all scholingy...

See this is where I'm not sure whether it adds to the story....a simple romantic scene would convey enough....what does two naked bods doing it really add - just a thought.

If done tastefully a good sex scene can add completely new depth to a character. If you've played the Witcher 2 imagine Ves, especially what happens in the Roche story, without have seen her vulnerable while her and Geralt had sex. For me it completely transformed her from just another butch soldier chick into a woman. Im sure there is some psychological explanation for it but IMO sex has a way of laying the characters naked before you in more ways that one.

Well maybe you're right. Hell, sometimes a game story is so similar to a movie script, and we can't say that all movies are better off without any sort of sex/nudity, so why should games be any different. Not that I'm going to play a 'Brokeback mountain' game or anything...but you get my drift.

Did you play Mass Effect? Then you already played a 'Brokeback Mountain' game. Only difference is you had a choice.

I think it would be good for the industry to have a clearly gay main character, the game wont have to have any actual sex in, but just have a protagonist that is gay and not ashamed of it. Obviously this will call mass hysteria in the bible belt but still, its something that should happen.
 
I've never seen a game where the story is driven (Yes I know) by the narrator having a bit of sexytime with another character
The only thing that this serves to do, and please keep this in mind before posing your inevitable disagreement with my opinion, is prevent younger players experiencing what should be a cornerstone title and a worthwhile gaming experience.

Speaking as a parent, seeing my son develop and learn I cannot for the life of me allow him to play games with sexual content, although the games themselves are truly worth experiencing

Should mature content not be limited to an Opt-In System , including choices for sexual orientation ?
Allowing mature content to be filtered out entirely

I say take the same approach as the movie industry. And no, not the porn industry. IF a scene calls for a nude scene and it's not ridicolous ovr the top, then whatever.

As for male or female nudity, yes, the female form is far more appealing than the male form, to men & women alike. I mean let's face it, male dangly bits are not pretty, not matter what your persuasion. So I think more audiences in general would accept the lady form, but male frontal shots really don't need to be shown thank you. Hell, even female frontal shots aren't neccesary.

It is my feeling that if a game has sexual content it should be rated accordingly. Opt-in Systems would be time consuming to build in a develop, I guess you could filter it out entirely but it has to be a choice. Removing the content just to drop the rating from M or because it could potentially offend someone somewhere is stupid.

Yeah but thats a simple skip the level/cutscene & in a shooter, apples and oranges. Doing the same thing in Witcher 2's opening scenes would cut out a significant part of the chemistry between Geralt and Triss. Its all about Context & if its the mind of the little children you are concerned about... should they maybe not be playing the Adult game in the first place O.o

Also Black Ops already had a mature rating and if it had any sexual content I highly doubt it would have been cut, the reason the "kill innocent people" bit was made optional was simply to lessen the inevitable out cry from this weeks anti-gaming organisation happy.
