Sharks chief executive John Smit said on Thursday he would be open to "engaging" with the former Springbok coach Jake White should an opportunity arise.

Reacting to media reports that White, who quit as coach of the Brumbies on Wednesday, was lined up to be director of coaching, Smit said: "Here at The Sharks we have a definite plan for our team. Could Jake White add value? Of course he can.

Does this mean they are negotiating? Else they would deny it wouldn't they? White for the Sharks? Great White Sharks? Hmmm.

But what happened to Brendan Venter? Wouldn't he be a good coach for the team?

I desperately wanted to hear him do this on SuperSport :D

 
Wow, if he come back I will be surprised. After the way SARU kicked him out I wouldn't be coming back
 
They were saying on radio this morning that he was extremely keen to coach Australia. Not getting the job probably had quite a bit to do with his resignation as coach of the Brumbies. I reckon that if he stayed another season, the Brumbies might have taken the Super Rugby trophy in 2014.
 
its all about the money...if the sharks can foot his bill he will be here. Stormers dont have the cash at the moment cause they spent it on buying lions...
also John Smit's agent is also Jake's Agent and said agent has it in real good with sharks cause there is a nice announcement coming later in the year with regards to a huge sponsorship "whistling:
 
Old Jake is the Alex Ferguson of Rugby.
He belongs in SA and he sure as hell belongs at The Sharks :D

Wish SARU weren't so tardy, I know Heyneke meyer is a decent coach but I feel Jake is just miles ahead of anyone locally and possibly even the world..
