i really couldnt give a hoot.... about the swearing filter. ireally cant see why its become such a big issue. you'd swear ppl were being castrated or something
 
Yes but with in reason and with in context. I dont want this site to turn into a place where people swear just for the sake of swearing. But in the context of expressing yourself it think its perfectly acceptable.
 
I'm actually for having another option that it should be contained to the Thread Killer thread and swearing anywhere else in the forums you get a warning/talking to. Maybe put a PG13 next to the TK so people know :D
 
Well I dont give a flying **** but I do agree with MH that we must somehow at least try to protect the young uns. Not sure even if this is possible. Maybe register seperately to the TK under conidtions like PG13 :)
 
see that's the other stupid part of having a swear filter, it cuts out some normal words too and then you have threads filled with *** even for normal conversations. It's stupid.
 
I agree. There are some times when swearing merely expresses what you want to say better.

Although I do agree (sorry, i accidently clicked 1st one not 2nd one)...it should be in moderation. Although I'm not a man of the cloth nor do I bow to any religion, things like:

blaspheming, blatant swearing and personal attacks of swearing should be neutered.

including the TK? Because then again, when is it not blatant? And blaspeming .... that's very very subjective. Not everyone is religious, so why cater to the religious?

Agreed. Blaspheming and personal attacks can do more damage the an swear word here and there.

blaspheming, the same as blatant swearing, could potentially loose feet for MyGaming. Yes most of us may not be religious but as much as i expect people to respect my believes and views, i should respect other peoples believes and views. We've had this discussion MH. Its not about religion its about respect. You want people to respect you and how you feel on a subject so you should respect how other people feel on another subject.

Im sure ppl swear alot more when they playing games online, 2 sides to everything.

1. Yes, we can all predict what the person says if there is stars in place but the stars will show to ppl that "yes we care"

2. In some cases the word showings is there just to emphasis just how frustrated / angry some ppl are towards something.

So in my opinion either way is cool :)
 
I like mcq's with no negative marking, yay.
Although I'm not a fan of censorship in any form, when you start offending people your intruding on their personal comfort and that shouldent be allowed. That said some people get offended way to easily and thats we have this democracy. (although Tinmans will is the way)

I guess it comes down to how much energy the mods have.
